Pump House does also have its own private garden. There are plenty of places to sit both inside and out to admire the countryside and the stunning collection of mature trees. There is a Victorian walled garden on the property within the woodland and you might be lucky enough to meet the occasional resident pigs! Please do not enter the old greenhouse as you will see the roof is not safe at the moment due to the winter winds. If you enjoy animals, there are plenty around - cattle in the farmers fields and our own entertaining Alpacas; three boys named Tinker, Ginger and Mattvei. Please do not go in the fields with the animals and talk to us about who you can feed and what they like. We have cats and dogs as well; the dogs should only be out when with us but the cats may well come and say hello, particularly the black fluffy one called Hendricks; he will probably try to tell you that he is never fed and has nowhere to sleep - do not believe him! He and his older friend, Rio (black and white) have very comfortable quarters in the house with regular meals provided! Do feel free to give them a fuss. Please respect the few places where there are Private signs; mainly the garden and field area in front of the conservatory on the east side of The Stable House which is where we live. Please take care around the wood and walled kitchen garden. Do not go inside the old greenhouses but enjoy sheltering in the old barns outside the garden if it rains. There are also places inside the house, to sit with your laptop and work, if you must! In the Stableyard, you will see the newly restored and converted Stable Barn where you can find our Coffee Club. Please check with us whether this will be open during your stay. . Other things to note There is a Coffee Club held in The Stable Barn in the stable-yard, with a Barista style coffee machine which is open to residents at specified times. All the family are trained, just message to ask when the machine is on. Please do not try to use it yourself! There is usually a selection of some home made cakes and biscuits (gluten free and vegan) as well. Any donations given for the beautifully made coffees, and home made cakes, go to support the Aesso Orphanage in Burkina Faso, West Africa. We do own a dog and some outside cats which you may meet in the grounds. They are always keen to come through your sliding doors but we ask that you don’t encourage them! There are three resident Alpacas; they are very happy to have a chat over the fence (particularly if you have some of their special feed - ask in The Stable Barn). The Stable House and Pump House are next door to The Kilworth House Hotel and Theatre - a stunning 1880 country house hotel, and 2007 built out-door seasonal theatre; a lovely place to walk over for a coffee or a meal, or even a show at the right time of year.
