I have spent more than a decade restoring the property to its original splendour, creating a stylish but relaxed atmosphere, ideal for both entertaining and unwinding. A spacious building with private garden overlooking the neighbouring Thurston Parish Church and with views extending towards Woodhead Pass - Tourist Board 5 Star Rating. The house makes a perfect location for reunions, family gatherings and those attending a wedding. PARTIES - please contact owner first to discuss. [NOTE - the maximum number to seat round the dining table is 10 and a better number is 8 and whilst the house can sleep 16, this is 9 in beds and the additional 7 are sofa beds and beech slat guest beds.] The Parsonage House is also ideally located for walkers wishing to explore either Derbyshire's Peak District or the spectacular Yorkshire Moors and Dales, while lovers of historic architecture will find many celebrated properties, including Castle Howard, Chatworths House, Brodsworth Hall, Haddon and Hardwick all within easy driving distance. In addition, the village of Haworth, home of the Bronte sisters and now one of the world's most famous centres of literary pilgrimage is just one of many other attractions. Although most visitors are expected to arrive by car, the Parsonage House is also easily accessible by public transport, with a regular train and bus service to Penistone and full bus link from there to Thurlstone. For relaxing at the end of the day, the Hunstman Pub, just a short walk from the Parsonage House in the centre of Thurlstone, in a well-known real ale house, while in Penistone there is a full range of restaurants, including traditional English, Italian and Indian. Penistone even boasts its own cinema, the Paramount, which screens all the latest movie releases and also hosts local drama companies. The Paramount is also extremely well known as the home of one of Britain's few surviving fully-working cinema organs. Guest access Guests will be asked to produce confirmation of identity and address for themselves and one other guest. This is IN ADDITION to anything you have supplied to Airbnb. Stays of less than three nights should definitely make an enquiry prior to booking as the duration of stay affects the services provided. Freshly laundered linen [see note below] and towels are provided but NOTE the beds are NOT made up - guests must do this themselves or make their own arrangements with the housekeeper before arrival. You are asked to strip beds on departure and place the linen and towles into the bags which are on the landing - the L shaped section. The kitchen is equipped for 20 people. There are plenty of pots and pans - cutlery, glassware etc. There is a standard sized kettle and a 3.5 litre catering kettle. The kitchen and dining room do NOT seat 20. NOTE - linen and towels - cleaning. All linen and towels are washed professionally - the wash is minimum 60 degrees. The detergent used is anti-bacterial. All surfaces are cleaned with a "hospital grade" anti-bacterial solution. Guests are supplied with a range of anti-bacterial detergents and fresh new cleaning cloths.
