Description

This luxurious converted pub features eight double bedrooms, seven bathrooms (six en-suite), a lounge, a snug, a huge dining table seating sixteen, a fully equipped kitchen and a basement TV and jukebox room. It's got a real boutique hotel feel and features four floors of stylish quirkiness. Located within 1 hour of London, this venue is amazing! Just read the reviews! Looking for the perfect weekend retreat or mid-week getaway location? Book The Bull! The space A fabulous Grade II listed Victorian pub, The Bull is now luxurious self-catering accommodation for up to 16 people, under 50 minutes from the centre of London. We cater to families who want to celebrate a special occasion and to corporate clients who just need some space to talk business. The Bull is your opportunity to hire your own private boutique hotel. We have a fully equipped kitchen, utility room, dining area (with a table seating 16), lounge with plenty of comfy sofas, snug with open fire, media room with 65" Ultra HD curved TV, 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms (6 of which are en suite) plus the original ladies' loos located on the ground floor near the exit to the south-facing courtyard garden. We have four Super King-size double beds, two King-size, one Queen-size and a bunk bed. The four Super Kings can be split to form twins if required. This means it's possible to give you a maximum of 13 separate beds. (Three doubles, four twins and the bunk bed). Ideally located to explore Kent - The Garden of England - The Bull is just 50 minutes by train from London and 30 minutes by car from the south coast. Built in 1864, the pub retains many of its original features - but with all mod cons too! The ceilings are high, and the dining area and sitting room are open-plan. These areas were formerly the pub's lounge and bar. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large range with five-burner hob, double oven and grill. There are two dishwashers, washer/dryer, microwave and air-fryer in the utility room. The pantry is full of dishes, bowls, jugs - everything you could possibly want. So if you are real foodies, you won't be short of utensils, pots and pans. All of the bedrooms are good sizes, the smallest room has bunk beds with full-size 3' beds. Six of the bedrooms have en-suite showers or bathrooms, four of which have underfloor heating and demister mirrors. The 7th shower room is on the top floor and is between two bedrooms. The original beer cellar is now a TV media room with a 65" curved Ultra HD SmartTV with Sky installed plus all the usual apps. For corporate guests looking for a business planning/strategy away day, the TV will link to your laptop with an HDMI cable. (We also have a projector and screen available for use on the ground floor.) The basement has reduced head height in relation to the 9' ceilings upstairs, but unless you are 6'3 or above, you will be able to stand up straight in most areas. This area also features two huge sofas for lounging around, a 1970s vinyl jukebox and a Karaoke machine (basically two microphones, an amplifier/speaker and a dodgy lighting system). We have Super Fast Fibre Optic Broadband because we know how important it is! You will be able to stream TV on your laptop and work if you really have to. The beer garden is a small, private south-facing deck and patio area. There is plenty of space to sit and eat with a large dining table and a parasol. For those who want it, we have a large, but basic, charcoal BBQ. We would stress that Brenchley is a small village and we ask our guests not to remain outside after 11 pm as the noise doesn't have to travel too far to disturb our lovely neighbours. Guest access The whole pub is yours! All four floors are for your exclusive use. We want you to make yourself at home and thoroughly enjoy The Bull. We hope we have thought of everything that will make your stay special. For business guests staying Monday to Thursday, we can help arrange everything you need. Consider The Bull your own private boutique hotel. If you're interested in learning more about team-building activities, private caterers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, places to visit, and transportation options, please don't hesitate to ask. And don't forget The Little Bull cafe/wine bar next door. They're not open to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays, but the owners live in the cottage next door, and can often be persuaded to cater out-of-hours for our guests. Whatever you need, we can help. Other things to note The Bull doesn't have any specific allocated parking. When it was built, horses were the main mode of transport, and there is still a hitching rail should you want to arrive by horse. However, there are usually a couple of spots directly in front of The Bull. There is also a small, free public car park behind the cottage next door. And because there are no yellow lines in the village, you can usually find street parking fairly close by. Brenchley is a very quiet little village with a beautiful Grade 1 listed Tudor church. It's like something out of Four Weddings and a Funeral with the bells ringing and the bride coming out of the Church. There is a Post Office opposite, but now that the butchers has gone, there is very little other commercial activity. If you need to shop, there's an award-winning village shop in Horsmonden (the next village), an M&S at the garage on the A21 Blue Boys roundabout near Matfield, plus the usual supermarkets - Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury's - just 10 minutes away (by car) in Tonbridge and/or Paddock Wood. Maidstone, with a huge shopping centre, is 20 minutes away, and Bluewater is just 40 minutes. The nearest station to get you to London is Paddock Wood, just 2.5 miles away and 42 minutes to London Bridge station. Kent is stuffed full of interesting and historic places to visit, and Brenchley is ideally placed to reach them all.
