Description

+ Open upper floor + Large, fully equipped kitchen + 1 single double bed (140 cm) + 1 single sofa bed (140 cm) + Fireplace + French Press coffee maker + Towels and linens Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the forest house, but always welcome in our “Little jewel with dike view” in Dangast! Also available here on Airbnb. The space Between the forest and the sea lies this cozy, Mediterranean-style forest house in the north of Friesland. The house is only accessible via a 500-meter-long driveway into the forest and is therefore very quiet. Surrounded by forests and pastures, you can enjoy the tranquility and nature. In the morning you are awakened only by the chirping of the birds at breakfast, for example outside on the beautiful terrace surrounded by vines or sit at the wooden table a few meters away with a view over the 6 hectares of meadow. Fresh eggs are available at an old farm nearby, as well as fresh rolls at the Frisian baker. If you are in the mood for a walk or like to do sports, you can jog through the forest right outside the front door or walk around the idyllic forest lake 5 minutes away or go swimming in Jürgenssee, which is also not much farther away. The beautiful North Sea can be reached in just 10 minutes by car. Here you can see sailing ships in the Varel harbour, eat freshly caught fish, get to know a bit of Frisian history in the 'Spijöök', buy pastries by the pound in the Bahlsen store or enjoy Frisian beer in the Varel brewery. When you cross the dike at the lock, the Wadden Sea World Natural Heritage Site extends in front of you. Take a deep breath and be enchanted by the fresh ocean air. Looks over the expanses of the nature reserve, which surrounds the Jade Bight. Pet a few sheep on the dike, go swimming or ride 7 km by bike directly along the dike to Dangast. Here you will find sandy beaches, wicker beach chairs, lots of different restaurants, carriage rides or traditional rhubarb cakes in the Kurhaus. Book a trip on the 'Etta von Dangast' to the Arngaster lighthouse. Experience sandbanks with seals or do a mudflat hike (because it is just as much part of a North Sea vacation, like the dike and the sheep) or go collecting shells on the beach. You can swim there either in the ocean or in the 'Dangast spring pool' operated with iodine brine spring water. Enjoy ocean views in cozy sun loungers at the 'Sundeck' beach club and the sunset in the evening with a cocktail. When the sun's gone, the forest house will be waiting for you. Throw on the grill or enjoy the warmth and crackling of the fire pit outside and fall asleep with the sound of the crickets. If you're adventurous, there's plenty to see and do here. You are about an hour away from the Dutch border. Take a day trip to beautiful Groningen or get to know the islands of the North Sea and book your crossing by ferry from Norddeich Mole to Norderney or from Neuharlingersiel to Spiekeroog. Visit the famous Jever beer brewery in Jever or take a guided tour of the old castle in Oldenburg. If the little ones want to see some tigers and giraffes, the 'Jaderbergerzoo' in Jaderberg is not far. Guest access The whole house, as well as the entire garden is available to you. Other things to note Best suited for a couple or friends as the sleeping areas are not separated. Please read the house rules carefully.
