This Grade II listed property built in the early 1800s once had a chemist’s shop on the ground floor, serving the local community from the early 1900s, right up until the 1960s. The property is now a wonderful holiday home with plenty of space for ten people. The old town is where the fishermen’s cottages, quay side and shipyards were located. All the streets of the old town are on the hillside so the wives could watch for the boats coming back in. A short walk and you are in the town centre, where you can walk through the indoor market and onto the high street. Scarborough has plenty to do for people of all ages, with two fantastic beaches and a long promenade, perfect for an evening stroll. Peasholm Park is well worth a visit, especially for those with children as there are pedalos, rowing boats and canoes so you can enjoy sailing around the beautiful lake. For evening entertainment, Scarborough Open Air Theatre is the largest in Europe where many international acts put on shows throughout the summer. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance from the property, and for those who enjoy shopping the High Street is just a 5-minute walk away. Filey, Whitby and Bridlington are all a short drive away making the property ideally placed to visit these towns, as well as the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. The medieval city of York is less than an hour away by car or you can catch a direct train from Scarborough. South Bay beach 400 yards. Shop 200 yards, pub 100 yards, restaurant 250 yards. Free WiFi Can comfortably fit up to 10 people
