The Stewards House @ Clonalis House Self Catering

The approach to the Clonalis estate is through a set of magnificent gates along an avenue which meanders through pasture & parkland of oak & copper beach trees. The Courtyard at Clonalis has 4 self catering cottages which retain all the elegance of the Georgian period. These superb holiday homes are comfortable residences with all modern comforts. Our guests can choose to unwind beside the fire with a good book or are free to enjoy the peace and serenity of our 700 acre estate. The space The Steward's House situated in our courtyard can accommodate 8 ppl & comprises of 4 bedrooms: 2 doubles & 2 twins,1 bathroom & 1 shower room. There is a sitting room with a wood burning stove & an additional dining/sitting room with another stove & also a well equipped kitchen. There is a clothes dryer on site. The house has a hair dryer, DVD & CD player. There is also a hard tennis court, b.b.q. area exclusively available for guests’ use. Electricity is included in the rate with 3 to 5 hrs heating per day during the summer depending on the month if required & 8 hours heating per day in the winter additional heating is charged at market rates. Nov - Feb: 8hrs Mar - Apr & Oct: 7 hrs May: 5hrs Jun: 4hrs Jul - Aug: 3 hrs Sep: 6 hrs Please note charging your Electric Vehicle is NOT PERMITTED from our cottages. There is 4 charging points in Castlerea 5 mins by car. At Clonalis we have 4 self catering cottages: The Orchard, Mews & Garden cottage including The Stewards House. Overall we can accommodate 25 ppl in all of our cottages in the heart of Roscommon making Clonalis ideal for groups of family or friends holidaying or celebrating together The Forge at Clonalis provides a large self-contained room that offers guests with group accommodation (who have booked all 4 cottages) bookings the facility to dine & socialise together in the summer months. The Old Forge has seating for 25 with a large welcoming wood burning stove. This can be booked separately & paid for upon arrival. Clonalis is a great base for walking groups with our woodlands forming part of the Suck Valley Way Walk. Well behaved dogs are allowed in our cottages. Dogs have to be kept on a lead at all times when outside. Dogs are not allowed on furniture or upstairs. As there is a working farm on the estate owners are responsible for their dog at all times. We ask all owners to behave responsibly & clean up after their dog. A small charge of €35 per dog which is payable upon booking. Guest access The guests have access to a tennis court, b.b.q area, and the Clonalis woodlands which has a 6km scenic walk. The Forge at Clonalis has been restored to provide a large self-contained room that offers guests with group accommodation bookings the facility to dine and socialise together. The Old Forge has seating for 30 people and has been sensitively restored with a large welcoming fireplace and sloping timber ceiling. This can be booked separately and paid for upon arrival. Other things to note Clonalis is a great base for walking groups with our facilities being ideal for groups who want to socialise together. Golfers will also find our facilities group friendly with the added bonus of special rates available from our local golf course at Castlerea – ideal for a golfing break in Co Roscommon.
