Charming house on the Eiderstedt peninsula. Suitable for families and couples (sleeps 6). Peripheral location in one of the most beautiful villages in the region. Not far to the North Sea and the Evershopsiel swimming area. The house has a floor area of about 50 square meters. A wooden staircase leads to the “empire under the sky.” Under the sloping walls are four beds. At the desk overlooking the apple orchard, many a wise word has already been put to paper. The enchanting house is ideal for small families, couples, course leaders, the newlyweds on their wedding night or as a retreat house for family celebrations. The house is located on the outskirts of Wasserkoog, a small Eiderstedt village. In recent years, many of the old farmhouses have been lovingly renovated. The nearest swimming area is a 10-minute bike ride. Here, villagers and guests swim on long summer days - provided the sea is there. The alternation between ebb and flow characterizes the landscape and life on the peninsula. The large and well-known beaches of St. Peter Ording are about 20 kilometers away. Sand and sky as far as the eye can see. This unique landscape was declared a World Heritage Site in 2009. In nearby Westhever, a beautiful walk through a bizarre salt marsh landscape leads to the postcard lighthouse and the sandbanks in front of it. With "Schietwedder" you can also explore the secrets of the sea with dry feet: in the Multimar Wattforum in Tönning or in the NABU Nature Center Kating. For those interested in technology, and not only for them, a trip to the Eider Barrage is worthwhile – a bulwark against the natural power of water. Many artists who have joined forces in the KunstKlima association live and work on Eiderstedt. The Dünentherme in the center of St. Peter-Ording offers a sauna with sea views, a saltwater swimming pool with waves and a slide. The tranquil “Dutch town” of Friedrichstadt an der Treene offers, among other things, a boat trip through the canals. Are you more in the mood for a little shopping spree, grog or shrimp rolls? Husum, the birthplace of Theodor Storm, can be reached in half an hour by car. A real highlight is the crocus blossom in the castle park. Guest access The house is a self-contained unit with a small directly attached garden. Other things to note The kitchen is set up so that you can cook well yourself. In the area you can buy eggs, lamb and sheep cheese. The nearest milk filling station is 3 km away. In Garding, Tönning or Husum you will find all the shops for your everyday needs. A larger organic market is located in Husum. The nearest restaurant can be found at the swimming area in Evershopsiel.
