The most AMAZING views from this private mountain getaway! Just 30 minutes to Asheville and 20 mins to both Black Mountain and Chimney Rock. Located on 17 acres of land along the ridgeline, you can see Mt. Mitchell in the distance and the glow of Black Mountain at night. Our home is truly unique, made of reassembled hand-hewn logs from the 1800's , custom built in 2008 with Modern Scandinavian interior design. We love the combination of the getaway into nature with the modern amenities of home. The space We call our home “Skyglider” because when you are sitting on the deck and it’s a clear day you feel like you are gliding suspended in the mountain ridges. The house was built in 2008 using 100 year old hand hewn logs from a historic home transported from Ohio. (side note: Wood has been shown to have similar psychological effects as forest wildlife. It calms the body and lowers blood pressure, heart rate and stress levels) So we say it’s truly a modern antique home. The interior opens out onto a view that is genuinely a seasonal work of art. The large windows highlight the landscape beautifully. The property is secluded in a 17 acre ridge, which is a key part of our home. Subdued decor, natural materials and gentle hues used throughout the home keep it from drawing attention away from the landscape. A harmonious home made for healthier more organic living! Would you relax here? It is conveniently located 20 minutes from Black Mountain and 20 minutes to South Asheville/ Biltmore area and 30 minutes to downtown Asheville. So take advantage of the peace and quiet or enjoy some city dinners or a fun night out in the quaint Black Mountain! Guest access You'll have access to the entire main cabin on the property + the 17 acres. There is a second (smaller) cabin on the property that is unoccupied that is not accessible. Other things to note Our home place is located at 3,000 ft elevation which equals amazing views. The road to the home is almost all the way paved except for a quarter-mile stretch that is gravel. This gravel stretch has a little hill that is moderately steep. We've driven cars as small as a Prius up. So, you shouldn't have any problem. But given the choice, a larger vehicle is definitely better. Plus we want to make sure there are no surprises!
