Island writer retreat kayakers paradise Vinalhaven

Spend a week in a Lobster pound keeper's Cottage on a remote island that is near to an island village yet far, far away from it all. Take the ferry from Rockland, park your car on Vinalhaven and take your kayaks/boat to your private retreat on a Greens Island cove to use as a base to explore the White islands, the Basin, Hurricane Island, Ram Island and much more. On a fair weather day even go a bit offshore and explore Brimstone Island. The space The kitchen has a hand pump from collected rain water tank, a gas stove, a solar refrigerator and lights. Cabin is 16' x 24' with loft bedroom with a double and twin sized bed, bedding and towels provided. There is a wood stove for rainy days and cool nights. Perfect as writer's sanctuary or a contemplative retreat. Guest access The cottage has float and ramp and is accessible at most tides. You can make your way to a private beach from here. If you need a ride from Vinalhaven I can offer a ride out on check in date for an added fee! Other things to note Bathroom facilities: Please note that while there is a pump in the house for water, there is no running water, which means no traditional toilet. There is an Out (an outhouse without a door), approximately thirty feet away from the house that overlooks Lobster Pound Cove and a sun shower.
