The Cabin at Brookwood

Tucked away on 140 acres in the rolling hills of north Mississippi, The Cabin at Brookwood is just 30 miles from Oxford, minutes from downtown Bruce, and a short drive from Tupelo and other iconic southern towns. Grab a good book and sit on the screened-in porch, or just appreciate the view from the ample windows in the living room and bedrooms. In cool weather, open the large double French glass doors and let the sounds of nature lull you to sleep. Outdoor types can enjoy over 2 miles of groomed hiking trails, woods and fields, an abundance of wildlife, and fishing for bass, bream, or catfish in the 6-acre lake. When you’re ready to kick back at the end of the day, everyone loves to gather around the outdoor fire pit. Make s’mores and share stories, or just relax in the Adirondack chairs and watch the stars come out while you revel in the peaceful surroundings. If you love to cook, the kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and all you need to whip up a gourmet meal. Or fire up the gas grill and eat on the porch. Prefer to dine out? Venture into nearby Bruce and you’ll find all the friendly, small-town charm and hospitality the South is known for, plus some good eating and shopping. Try the fresh fried catfish at Bruce Bait Shop and Sporting Goods, or the tri-salad plate at Jeffery’s gift shop, with house-made chicken salad, pasta salad and best of all, a strawberry pretzel salad. For a wider selection of restaurants, shops and culture, Oxford, Tupelo, Clarksdale and plenty of stops on the Blues Trail are within easy driving distance. For more local insider tips, ask your host. Guest access There is a large parking area for all Guests. Please do not drive vehicles on the grass or trails. Other things to note 2-night minimum stay week-ends (Fri-Sat). 3-night minimum for holidays, week days (Sun-Thursday) and special Ole Miss events (graduation) 9 guests maximum. We request the names and ages of ALL guests staying on the property to be provided. The person making the booking must be at least 25 years of age and must be staying at the property for the duration of the booking. You will be asked to submit a copy of a government ID for age verification once booking has been confirmed. No third party bookings will be accepted. Several closets in the cabin will be locked, but rods for hanging clothes are provided on each closet door (and rolling racks if more space is needed). The sofa in the great room is a sleeper sofa. All sheets are located in the master bedroom. Fuel for the gas grill and wood for the fire pit are provided. Lighter fluid for the fire pit is not provided.
