Closest campground located just 2 miles outside of Baxter State Park! Your own private bunkhouse at our campground. The bunkhouses are not heated and have no electricity. There are 4 single bunks in bunkhouse, each with a mattress and a pillow. The campground is in a remote location, no internet/no cell coverage/no electricity. However, during generator hours, hot showers, flushable toilets, water, electricity and WiFi are available at the pavilion. Hours may vary based on season. The space The Bunkhouse is located on our campground, NEOC Basecamp, formerly Penobscot Outdoor Center, which also has a large main pavilion. The bunkhouses are not heated and have no electricity. Many of our guests choose to bring their own sleeping bags but we do have cover sheets, blankets and pillow cases available included in your stay. During generator hours, hot showers, flushable toilets, water, electricity and WiFi are available at the pavilion. Hours may vary based on season. Traditional Maine outhouses are in two locations in the campground. Please refer to your campground map to find these locations. Guest access NEOC Basecamp includes a pavilion, volleyball, and a pond for canoes and kayaks (we do not recommend swimming in Pockwockamus Pond). During generator hours, hot showers, flushable toilets, water, electricity and WiFi are available at the pavilion. Hours may vary based on season. Canoe and kayak rentals are available for use on the pond and included with your camping accommodation. Additionally, canoe, kayak, and paddle board rentals are available and included in your accommodation at NEOC at Twin Pines on Millinocket Lake. Other things to note It is Maine and it can get cool in the evenings even in the middle of summer so you may want to pack at least one sweatshirt/jacket depending on the weather forecast. NEOC Basecamp serves as our whitewater rafting base. Ask about booking a whitewater rafting trip!
