Description
Well Cottage is a luxurious Grade II listed Norfolk brick and flint house with beautiful oak beams, pamment floors and warming wood burning stoves in the sitting room and dining rooms. The kitchen is large and superbly equipped. The house is ideally suited for holidays for one or two families. It has four bedrooms - two with en-suite showers - and a family bathroom on the first floor for parents and young adults, and two bedrooms and a bathroom in the attic for up to four younger children. The space The house has beautiful oak beams in all rooms and is very comfortably furnished. It is centrally heated with under-floor heating in the kitchen and dining room and there are wood burning stoves in both the sitting and dining rooms. A large oak dining table in the dining room seats twelve. There is a downstairs loo and separate utility room with a washing machine, dryer and airing cupboard. There is free Wi-Fi in all rooms and a smart TV in the sitting room. The kitchen is large, has hand-made oak cabinets and is fully equipped with two double ovens, a warming drawer, a microwave and an electric induction hob. There is a central dining table that comfortably seats six. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms - two with en-suite shower rooms; a room with two single beds; a large attic bedroom/playroom with three single beds; and a smaller attic room with a single bed; there are also two family bathrooms. Guests have direct access to the adjacent recreation ground and well-equipped playground via a private gate, which can provide hours of amusement for the children as the adults relax with their books (or Kindles) and a cup of tea in the large landscaped garden. There is an outdoor table tennis and a croquet set as well as other garden toys and games. For the more energetic there are the surrounding quiet lanes and lovely countryside to explore on foot or bicycle and it is only a twenty-minute drive to the famous North Norfolk coastline: Blakeney c. 11 miles Well next the Sea and Holkham c. 14 miles Sheringham c. 14 miles There is a small farm shop in the village (Martin's farm) where guests can purchase eggs, milk, honey and freshly prepared meat. The nearest shop is in Melton Constable c. 2 miles. The nearest pub is in Briston c 2.5 miles. Hindolveston Village Hall has a bar on Friday evenings between 6.30 - 10.30 pm. All supermarkets deliver to the village. Fakenham is c. 8 miles away and has a large Morrisons, Tesco, Aldi and Lidl. Holt is c 8.5 miles away with a lovely range of independent shops and cafes as well as a Budgens and the renowned Bakers and Larners. Guest access Guests have access to all parts of the cottage and garden. The driveway to the house off The Street is gated and is shared with Well Cottage Barn. There is parking space for up to four cars on the gravelled drive immediately in front of Well Cottage with an electric charging point. Other things to note We welcome up to three well behaved dogs although we do ask that they do not go upstairs into the bedrooms and that they stay off the furniture downstairs.
