Beautiful WOODWARD PARK opened in 1968, covers 300 acres and is nearby. It can be walked to in 20-25 min. It consists of trails, picnic tables, bluff area great for kite flying, disc golf course, BMX bike course, creeks, large duck ponds and the beautiful SHINZEN Friendship Gardens with teahouse. The Thomas MacMichael Senior Loop Trail gives hikers riverfront trail access. Vehicle entry fee to the park is $5.00. There is an additional entrance fee (adult $5.00, senior $1.00) to the Shinzen Gardens. Minutes away is River Park Shopping Center. It offers outstanding shopping, a variety of dining choices, entertaining Regal Edwards Fresno 4DX and IMAX theater. A Farmers Market with food vendors and live music to relax/unwind on Tuesday evenings 5-9 pm. Also Villaggio Shopping Center is across the street from River Park. A multitude of shopping & restaurants are there as well. In this quiet neighborhood is the Woodward Park Regional Library. This is beautifully & uniquely designed by award winning Architects. Its a FREE public library provided by Fresno County. This is an excellent location for out of town guests visiting or participating in school sports events at the highly acclaimed Clovis Unified School District: with nearby highs schools; Clovis West High School, Buchanan High School and Clovis North High School. The spectacular scenic YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK is 86 miles away, approx. a 2 hour drive to the valley. The amazing historic Giant Sequoia trees make their home in the SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK which is 61 miles away, approx. 1.16 hour drive.
