Due to the unique location in the heart of the Dolomites and the marvellous landscape Ortisei is one of the world's most famous destinations for holidays in the mountains. Recently the UNESCO declares the Dolomiti as a Natural World Heritage Site. The centre and its pedestrian only area are a wonderful meeting place but are also ideal for shopping. From here one may easily wander off into the woods in search of some old farm. The Seceda (Sellaronda) and the Alpe di Siusi can be reached by comfortable lifts. In the summer season the fabulous scenery of our high mountains attracts hikers, climbers and bikers. In winter our valley is completely covered with snow and is the right choice for winter sports in the middle of the world's largest ski region, the Dolomiti-Superski.
