A cosy little stockhouse_the archipelago of Vöyri

Over 100 years old stockhouse in a little village in the archipelago of Maxmo in Vöyri. The atmosphere is calm and quiet in the village. The place is 10 km from the local center and 40 km from the city center of Vaasa, the capital of the Pohjanmaa/Österbotten county. The region is about 50:50 bilingual finnish-swedish speaking, but the archipelago is nearly 100 % Swedish speaking. Many people speak both languages. English is a common foreign language. You get by with english very well. The space The house can be used even by elderly people, but it is not very good for physically handicapped. Guest access You can use the sauna freely, but we ask a little extra fee (40 €) of using the bath tub. They are both heated with wood. The bath tub takes nearly three cubic meters of good drinking water. It takes several hours and lots of dry wood to heat it. In wintertime we start filling the bath tub and heating it one day before you arrive. It demands me to arrive to the house for a day before you. Two bicycles, a little rowing/motorboat and two kayaks are available in case you wish to go gor cycling, boating, fishing and/or paddling. We ask 15 €/ a bike, 25 € / kayak and 40 € boat / visit - undependent how many times you use them during your stay. In wintertime the sea is naturally covered by a thick layer of ice, :). Depending of the weather conditions, it is nice for moving on the ice with skis, skates, sparking sledge, walking, snow mobile...winter fishing is also popular. I’ll give you hints of nice hikingroutes not far from the village. In winter time they’re naturally more difficult to reach because of the snow. There are lots of summer festivals, markets, music and other culture happenings in Vaasa and the region. Other things to note There is no luxury in the house. It is over one hundred years old countryhouse in a village out in the nature. Basic heating in wintertime is with electric heating elements, and extra heating with the wood stove in the living room/kitchen. There is no shower. We use the traditional way to keep us clean: the fnnish sauna. There is also a bath tub heated with wood out in the garden. Anyway, there is warm and cold water, elecrticity, a dishwasher and washing machine. Nice place for someone who likes peace and nature, to hike, fish and pike berries and mushrooms...
