'Horace' New Forest Shepherds Hut, Travelers Rest

Your hosts are Phil & Debbie Kingston who have many years of experience living close to and within the New Forest National Park. Horace the Hut is one of two newly built traditional shepherds hut. which has a high rise double bed with storage, a 12v & 24volt electrical supply with USB chargers. Also a kitchen area, gas hob & water. Separate main shower & WC in another building. The hut is located within a camp site, other guests may pass in front of the hut. We supply the bed linen & towels. The space Reggie The hut is positioned on the edge of a field away from the hosts main property with a picnic bench available for use. The hut is equipped with a double bed high sleeper with storage cupboards underneath. Fire pits and a charcoal BBQ are available for hire, please ask your guests about this on arrival. The hut is equipped with a two burner gas hob, plates & cutlery, pots & pans, glasses and mugs. There is a portable fridge and an electric fire for the winter and a cooling fan for the summer. The hut offers 240v mains electric sockets with a USB charging point for phones and laptops. There is a portaloo in an enclosed space within the hut with a newly fitted out (2026) separate mains toilet and shower in a building a short walk away, towels are provided for your use. The property is a small holding with a certificated camp site, so farming activities can take place from time to time but not enough to affect your peace and quiet. Guest access There is a designated hard standing area for parking adjacent to the camp site entrance which is located next to the Shepherd Huts. On arrival look for the Camping & Caravanning Club sign on the gate then park on the left, the huts are signposted at the entrance. Other things to note Good access to lots of local amenities and the New Forest National Park. Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, Lymington and New Milton are all a short distance away and fun to explore. There are fantastic opportunities for cycling and walking nearby where horses, deer, pigs and sheep move freely.
