La Casa degli Archi is part of a small “albergo diffuso” (La Torre del Cornone) located in the historic center of Fontecchio, a village in the Sirente Velino Park. It can be reached in a few minutes on foot from the "Piazza del Popolo" where you can park. The space The house, entirely at your disposal, is a typical "tower-house" overlooking the village walls and with a spectacular view of the green and silent valley of the Aterno river. The house is on three floors. On the ground floor is a large living room with an equipped kitchenette, an induction stove with two burners, and a small refrigerator. On the first floor, there is a double or triple bedroom and another similar one on the second floor. Both bedrooms have their own private bathroom. Below the house is a rustic cellar, which overlooks a small panoramic space that looks out onto the valley and sunset. A few steps away, shared with other guests, is a panoramic garden with armchairs and a large table with a brick seat, under a pergola of "Malvasia Aquilana". There are STAIRS almost everywhere, inside and outside the house. Guest access Directly from the house, through the Porta da Piedi path, you can reach the valley where the Aterno river flows and from there you can climb to the Pagliare plateau. The house is located along the Cammino di San Tommaso (Rome-Ortona) and along that of Calestino V (Sulmona-L'Aquila). From here you can visit the many villages, reach the trails of the highest mountains of Gran Sasso, Monte Sirente and Maiella Madre. A few minutes' drive away, Lake Sinizzo and the Stiffe caves. Nearby is the Campo Imperatore plateau with Rocca di Calascio and Santo Stefano di Sessanio, the cities of L'Aquila and Sulmona. Guides, maps of the trails and roads, a well-stocked library on the environment and landscape and all our expertise on itineraries, local food and wineries to get to know and visit are available to guests. In the village, all the necessary amenities for a peaceful stay: the bar and tobacco shop, a grocery store, restaurants, a deli, pharmacy, ATM.
