Cabin in Stratford

Screened-in porch overlooking a beautiful lake for swimming, fishing, boating. Large main room for gathering with friends and family. Our cottage is nestled in trees, yet a short train ride from NYC. Simple and beautiful. A perfect getaway! The space Large A-frame vacation cottage on private lake. Large great room with stone fireplace, private bedroom, sleeping loft, wrap-around screen porch. 1.5 baths, full kitchen, 2.5 wooded-acres with lake view and private dock. Wireless internet. Swim, boat, sail, fish on a spring fed beautiful lake. We have a canoe, rowboat, and 2 kayaks (no gas motors allowed on the lake or outside/unregistered boats of any kind). Plenty of room to sleep up to 8 people. There is one private bedroom with a queen bed, small 1/2 bath, and air conditioning. There are beds and fans throughout the rest of the house--3 twins on the balcony, queens in each corner of the main room, and 2 twins and a futon on the screened in porch. No Smoking. No pets. Summer only. Available May 1 - October 1 (flexible). 20 minutes by car to New Haven and Yale University. Stratford Train Station for commuter rail to NYC a 10 minute drive away. Family home that has been used and loved for many summers, but we can't get there enough and love to have others enjoy it. (Upon reserving the home, we will send you the Lake Association's Indemnity Waiver that you will need to sign and return releasing the Association from responsibility for your use of the lake.) Guest access Guests have full access to the entire home and lake. Other things to note There is excellent wifi connection throughout the house and cell reception at both the house and down at the lake. There is no landline available in the house. The one private bedroom has an a/c and heat unit. The rest of the house is fan and breeze cooled with the fireplace for a bit of warmth when it's cool.
