It lies on the Olšava River near its mouth to the Morava River at an altitude of 185 m. Kunovice is located in the fertile lowlands of the Lower Moravian Basin, bordered to the south by the Hlucká Hills, which belong to the Vizovické Highlands, and to the west by the Chřiby Mountains. Kunovice was part of the town of Uh. Hradiště as its urban part. In 1990, citizens in a local referendum expressed their will to separate the town. On January 1, 1991, the modern history of independent Kunovice began. In 1997, Kunovice was declared a city. Today, 5,400 inhabitants live in our town.
