Description

Unwind in this beautifully restored Grade II listed, 17th Century farmers cottage with exposed beams, original ironwork, underfloor heating and a soothing log burning hot tub. Opposite you'll find a cosy, dog-friendly village pub with open fires. You’ll be 7 minutes away from artisanal food producers in the market town of Malton (known as Yorkshire's Food Capital) and ideally located for exploring the Yorkshire Wolds (2 miles), Howardian Hills (10 miles), York (17 miles) & Beaches (27 miles). The space 300 year old sandstone walls stand against snug and cosy heated floors throughout. From the atmospheric dark wooden beams in the living room to vaulted ceilings and full length folding doors in the dining area, the cottage effortlessly blends the cosy core of this charming historic cottage with modern day luxury. The private spacious Swedish tub (designed for 6-8 people) gives you space to stretch out and relax as the crackle of logs from the burner fills the air and the water heats as you lay there. The tub is set up with eco-spa (a chlorine free) eco friendly system. All logs for the hot tub are provided plus a full basket for the log burner inside the cottage. Genuinely dog-friendly the front and rear gardens are secure. A handmade wooden stair gate helps your dog stay in the areas designed for them (the entire downstairs area). You fur baby is also very welcome in the dog-friendly pub opposite and there are several walks from the front door. Nearby you'll find Malton ("Yorkshire's Food Capital") with monthly food markets, artisan producers, and independently owned restaurants and interiors stores (7 mins drive). THE SPACE Upstairs: King-size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets in a light-filled room with original stone walls and exposed beams. The marble topped early 19th Century bedside tables have been imported from France to add the intentional touches you'll enjoy. Downstairs: You'll find an open-plan kitchen-dining area with fully equipped handmade kitchen, and folding doors that open the entire width of the dining area into the garden. You'll find kitchen essentials like a Nespresso machine with pods provided, dishwasher tabs and jars of oats and pasta to help you feel right at home. The living room: Underfloor heating, wooden beams, exposed stone walls, Smart TV, board games , books and a log burner - perfect for cosy nights in. Bathroom: Walk-in shower with heated floors, electric mirror, and luxury sustainable essentials (shampoo, conditioner, hand wash etc.) Gardens: Secure rear garden with hot tub and BBQ, plus peaceful front rose garden with morning sun and bench. Parking: Private space for 2 cars, completely hidden from view or park for free on the roadside. By Train: York station 2 hours from London, 3 hours from Edinburgh. Change at York for Malton then 7-minute taxi/drive to cottage. By Car: 7 minutes from Malton, 17 minutes from York, free parking on village street or use private parking behind cottage. Other things to note DOGS & LOCAL AREA - We welcome dogs at no extra charge - suitable for three small dogs or two large dogs (note: a Great Dane would need more space and a higher fence!) You're the expert on your pets - our photos show accurate space so you can judge if it's suitable. Dogs stay downstairs please - exceptions can be made in some pre-agreed circumstances (theres a lovely built in stair gate). Very dog-friendly area with pub opposite and next village both having open fires year-round. COMPREHENSIVE GUIDES PROVIDED - On booking you get access to regularly updated guides including dog-friendly notes, coeliac/GF options, vegan choices, LGBT+ friendly venues, and EV charging locations. HOT TUB SETUP - Default setup uses the eco-spa system. You'll simply add one tablet before each use, no maintenance visits needed. All logs for hot tub use are provided. EV CHARGING & MALTON - Closest charge points: Fast charge point at BP/M&S (5 mins) and Morrisons Malton (7 mins). From Morrisons it's a 3-minute walk to Malton's famous coffee roastery, award-winning patisserie, and independent homeware shops. MISC - Smoking outside only. Infants (pre-crawlers) welcome but it's not safe for mobile children who can climb due to fall hazards. We only take our children when they're 7yrs+). Strong WiFi throughout.
