Adirondack Star Ridge Cottage

You asked for peace & quiet, well here it is! Adirondack Star Ridge Cottage is nestled on a private and serene 30 acre property surrounded by tens of thousands of acres of pristine timber land. No neighbors in sight (only 1 other full timer down the road, no other residents within 3/4 mile). Your mind and body will get the rest and peace it deserves. RETREAT- REST- RENEW The space The Cottage offers two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen mattress and plenty of closet space. The second bedroom has two twin size beds, a desk and a dresser. The spacious, eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with all that is needed to prepare your own freshly made meals. The Jacuzzi steam shower is great for refreshing oneself after a long day of play in the outdoors before settling in for a cozy and comfortable night. On cold or chilly nights, the wood stove is perfect and firewood is onsite. The outside deck is wonderful for star gazing the velvet sky. The spacious bathroom includes the Jacuzzi steam shower with various jets to help you and your muscles relax after a long day on the slopes or after a vigorous hike or paddle. A wrap-around, 750 square foot deck includes a propane grill and seating (in season) for lounging and eating outside at an umbrella-covered table. A seasonal 10’ round screen room is available for Summer & Fall. The deck is gated. Adirondack Star Ridge Cottage is equipped with ultra high speed fiber optic wireless, flat screen Smart TV with ROKU (our NetFlix subscription included) with DVD player and assorted reading materials. There are board games and puzzles too! A wood stove with firewood included will keep you cozy even on the chilliest of days and nights. While you are out on your adventures, the radiant in-floor heating will welcome pleasure for your feet. In warmer seasons, full casement windows crank open for plenty of ventilation and light. There is NO air conditioning since most summer evenings cool down in the Adirondack Mountains and there is often a light breeze & lots of shading pines. Two ceiling fans and a box fan also help keep the air flowing inside. Adirondack Star Ridge is located 5 miles from the rural town of Au Sable Forks where you will find a food market, bank (ATM), 2 restaurants and various shops including fuel. The cottage is about 15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain and 30-35 minutes from Lake Placid and Plattsburgh. Burlington, VT is a short ferry ride away across scenic Lake Champlain, between the Adirondack Mountains and the Green Mountains. Another wonderful day trip option is Montreal. Both locations are about an hour and a half away! Passports required for Montreal & Quebec City(3-4 hrs). Great hiking trails are available right outside the cottage door providing miles through thousands of acres of adjacent timberland full of logging skid trails! It will most likely ONLY be you and the wilderness---the likelihood of encountering another human are slim to none. Peace & quiet!! A single canine of 25 pounds or less MAY be allowed but you must talk to us before booking. We have special house rules for a pet as well as an additional fee.
