Originally built 1870, extended and modernized the last 10 years, but still with original charm (and in certain aspects a bit primitive, please have realistic expectations). The house has two floors: 1st floor: Small living room, master bedroom (sleeps 2), bathroom with shower, kitchen, and kitchen extension. 1 additional room kept for owner's storage. 2nd floor: Living room with large glass wall, small bedroom (sleeps 1,5), small living room which can be used as bedroom for 2, toilet, working desk, veranda with 2 adirondacks. Maximum inhabitants: 6 Garden with 3 levels: - Lower (grass), 2 apple trees - Middle with outside dining table, barbecue, stone terrace with afternoon sun - Upper (grass) with 2 adirondacks, sea view. Quiet neighborhood, VERY quiet in winter. Hotel, cafe, art galleries, supermarkets nearby. Nice area for walks, bicycling, fishing, golf, kayaking Åsgårdstrand is a small town with less than 3000 inhabitants. Larger towns Tønsberg and Horten 15 minutes away, less than 2 hours to Oslo with bus/train, 1+ hour by car. Close to airports Torp (TRF) and Rygge (RYG), train to Oslo main airport Gardermoen (OSL), 2 hours. Electrical heating. SInce the house is old, some rooms lack proper insulation, and in extreme cold weather is not economical to fully heat. Living room upstairs and downstairs and bathroom OK, other rooms will be cold when below -5C in winter (January-mid March). Wireless internet/broadband installed. The house can be rented for longer periods during fall/winter/spring. For long-term rental (more than 1 month in period of September-April) base price will be lower (in winter down to USD 1000/month), but electricity bill will be paid by tenant directly based on metered consumption, and a separate deposit of up to 250 € will be required. In summer (mid May-August) the house can only be rented on a weekly basis, and at a higher weekly price (USD (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) Guest access The whole house and garden. When booked for 3 persons (base price) or less, 1 room (bedroom 4) downstairs will be used for owner's storage Other things to note The house is old, and parts of it will be cold mid-winter. Additional heating is possible, but will affect the electricity bill.
