Stay, relax and enjoy yourself at this cozy ocean view cottage in Melville, NS (River John) which has been newly renovated. You can walk the sandy beach, hunt for beach glass or simply sit and relax. With some of the warmest waters in Canada this section of the Northumberland Straight is perfect for swimming, kayaking, snorkeling and paddle boarding. Evenings can be spent gazing at the spectacular sunsets or enjoying a glass of wine at the fire pit. The space You have access to the entire cottage, wrap around deck, BBQ, outside furniture that includes a dining table, 4 chairs and umbrella plus a separate sitting area with cushioned love seat, 2 chairs and coffee table. Upstairs is 1 large bedroom with 1/2 walls dividing the 2 sleeping areas with partial privacy only. Perfect for families with older children, couples or friends. Bedroom has a skylight over each bed, windows at each end and an air conditioner will cool the entire room if needed. 2 dressers and electric heat when needed. The staircase is a little steep and not suitable for small children or anyone with mobility issues. The main floor has a fully functional kitchen with glass stovetop cooker, stainless steel wall oven, stainless steel fridge and stainless steel countertop. Great selection of pots, pans, cooking utensils, cutlery, bowls, glasses and assorted dishes. Bar style table with stools seats 4. Living area has a couch and 2 chairs. A custom desk, office chair and shelving built in under the stairs provides a perfect work area if needed. 32” TV with Chromecast and Wi-Fi only, no cable TV service. Heat pump in main living area providing air conditioning or heat as needed. In the colder months there is a propane stove for that extra kick of heat! Bathroom with double sinks, a stand up tiled shower, toilet and plenty of storage space. The utility room has washer and dryer, shelving and a fresh water cooler for cooking and drinking. Guest access Entire cottage with private entrances. Other things to note The well water is not for drinking or cooking. A water cooler and fresh water is supplied. We are on a well and septic system so only toilet paper can be flushed (no wipes, no paper towel, no tissue). Please do not drive on the lawn, there is room for 2 cars in the driveway.
