Set in 800 acres of rolling Northumberland farmland, with stunning country views of both the Cheviot Hills and NE coastline, The Whinny is an exceptional location & the perfect rural retreat for families, couples & 3 four legged guests! Half a mile up a farm track, the cottage, is just 10 minutes from the historic market town of Alnwick & 15 minutes from nearest beach. Ideally placed for exploring all the sites and local experiences, this beautiful county has to offer. Dog sitting option avail. The space At this exceptional location you can enjoy stunning country walks and bike rides, right from the doorstep and at night, star gaze, with no artificial light to hamper the evening view! The Whinny Cottage is accessed through double gates and there is plenty of parking for at least three vehicles. The attractive stone built entrance is situated on the East side and leads to a spacious tiled cloakroom/boot-room which includes a separate w/c. A door to the left opens into the main living area, providing a fantastic entertaining space for families and groups to relax and socialise. There are two comfortable sofas and a chair positioned around the feature fireplace with cosy log burner and 43” smart TV with WIFI. The newly installed open plan shaker style kitchen, includes a double oven, dishwasher, wash/dryer, fridge and wine cooler. The standout feature to this room is the dining area situated in a magnificent walk-in bay window, with window seats and underfloor heating. This seating arrangement provides breath-taking views of the open countryside and coastline beyond. At the far end of the room, stairs lead up to three double bedrooms all with their own en-suite facilities. There are two King size bedrooms, with shower en-suites and a twin room with bath and mixer shower. All three bedrooms enjoy unsurpassed views of some of Northumberland most popular attractions, including the Farne Islands, Beadnell, Seahouses and to the West, the Cheviot Hills. The famous Market town of Anlwick is only a ten minute drive away and as well as the option to explore the historic Alnwick castle and gardens, there are plenty of pub, restaurant and shopping options. To the East, enjoy the coastal villages of Craster, Embelton, Beadnell, Seahouses and Bamburgh. Guest access Guests enter the property through double gates and the spacious private gravel area has plenty of parking for several cars. In addition, there is a patio/picnic table to enjoy on warm evenings. A charcoal BBQ is also available. The property is then accessed through a small gate which leads to the front door and a large enclosed paved area with further outdoor seating for sunny breakfast mornings. NB: the half a mile of farm track leading up to the Whinny & Whinny Cottage provides access for all regular vehicles but is not recommended for cars with a very low chassis such as a sports car. Other things to note The hosts that live on site like to offer a personalised welcome basket and home baking for special family/anniversary occasions.
