In the heart of the South Downs near Lewes

Our Victorian home is just outside the beautiful town of Lewes and 15 minutes from Glyndebourne. We are surrounded by the South Downs and and are a stone's throw from the South Downs Way. Our home is our haven and is a wonderful place to hang out, set off from and generally enjoy. After a good night's sleep we prepare our guests a fabulous breakfast of croissants, full English and fresh fruit, tea, coffee and juice. Let us know what you fancy and we will do our best to accommodate it. The space We have 4 double bedrooms for guests to use. One with an en-suite and the others with their own, brand new dedicated bathroom. All rooms are available for guests and we can comfortably accommodate up to 8. We only accept one booking at a time whether it’s one or a house full. All the rooms are in very good order. We are mad keen on photography and many of the rooms are adorned with some beautiful original pieces from a number of celebrated artists. The house is quite eclectic but hopefully to most people's liking. The prices are based on two people sharing an en-suite bedroom. We charge the same amount for the either one or two people sharing and then £80 for each extra person above 2. If 2 people book but would like separate rooms we are happy to put them both in a lovely double room of their own but we will charge an extra £50. If this is required, let me know and I’ll send you an offer that includes the supplement. If you only read one thing, please read this: - We offer a home-for-home experience. We like to keep it casual and attentive. - We provide a hosted experience but keep a low profile, you have the run of the house and garden and we don’t mind guests staying up late. - We have two well behaved cats - Breakfast is as good as we can make it. - We can accommodate 3 cars. More is possible but please let me know. - We’re in a lovely setting outside Lewes. You maybe be aware of the road on weekday rush hours but it’s pretty quiet at the weekend. - We try to make the stay as we’d like it. We have Egyptian cotton bedding, organic bathroom products and quality, often organic produce for breakfast. Guest access Guests can have the en-suite double bedroom or choose from three of the other double bedrooms with a shared, brand new shower room. We can accommodate up to 8 people under one booking. Apart from us, the house is yours and yours only. They are welcome to use the kitchen for preparing food and refreshments and the dining room for eating and gathering in. We also have a lovely garden and outside seating for sunny days and evenings. During your stay Lewes and Brighton have so much to offer visitors and we know them well. We would be very happy to help make suggestions and recommendations. Other things to note We are 3 miles outside Lewes, 1 mile from Cooksbridge train station and there is an hourly bus service that stops outside of the house. We also have parking for guests if they choose to drive. We are 5 minutes from a great country pub and only 10 minutes from the South Downs Way. Lewes is a fabulous town to discover with its incredible history, Bonfire activities and Glyndebourne.
