Description
A cottage with lots of character in a convenient location for visiting local area. Furnished with a mixture of antique and modern furniture. Lots to do within walking distance: Cromford Canal, High Peak Trail, historic Arkwright Mill. Close to National Park. Local shops, restaurants, pubs and the famous Scarthin Books within 5 minutes walk. View of hills below Black Rocks. On street parking free. You may have to park away from cottage at busy times. Cromford railway station 15 minutes walk away. The space Mid -terrace cottage: double with en suite shower room (1st floor) twin and single bedroom rooms plus family bathroom (2nd floor). Spacious lounge/dining room and very small (one person at a time) but well-equipped kitchen (kitchenette). The cottage is arranged over 3 floors, with steep stairs, also steps leading to entrance. Please note we don't have stair gates or child-safe locks on the windows. To the side of the cottage (not attached) is a small sunny garden where you can sit outside. TV with Freeview and catch-up, Wi-Fi, library of books and DVDs, board games. Tea, coffee, milk, biscuits for your arrival. We supply washing-up liquid, brush and cloth; an iron and tabletop ironing board; two hair driers as well as handwash in bathrooms and kitchen. In winter we supply some logs and kindling for the stove, to get you going, a further supply can be bought from the local shop or petrol stations. Spare blankets in bedrooms if duvet isn't enough. Parking is in the road on a first come, first served basis and free of charge. If you can't park close to the cottage, normally other drivers don't mind waiting a minute if you stop to unload your car. Guest access Garden to side of property, not adjoining, which has a bench plus table and two chairs. Please see photos on Airbnb, so that you know which is our garden. Other things to note Pet-free home. Access via key In key safe. At busy times parking space is at a premium. Parking by railings in Scarthin or in one of the 2 roadside places just before cottages, is free. You can stop in the road to unload, and continue down to next road (Water Lane) to park if necessary. Also free parking in Market Place. Please note that the off-road parking nearby is private, so please don't park there. Paid for parking in Mill Road by the Arkwright Mill.
