Luxury Romantic - Swaledale Shepherds Hut

We have loved creating this very special getaway for two here in beautiful Swaledale. Our shepherds hut is located in an idyllic private location with far reaching views of Swaledale. All the feelings you have as a child making dens and wanting to sleep out in them have been fulfilled ( be it a little more luxurious!). Whatever time of year, a cosy retreat awaits you with underfloor heating and a wood burning stove, luxury bedding, cosy sheepskins, kingsize bed. We don’t allow pets or smoking . The space Our shepherds hut is located in a really private secluded location. It’s cosy and warm so can be used anytime of the year. It has underfloor heating, sheep’s wool insulation and a little wood burning stove. A little bathroom with locally made handsoaps, great shower ( with full tank, not an electric shower ) ensuring a more powerful shower and view of a gill ( small waterfall). Lay back and enjoy the view , the night skies are starry, the owls hooting creates a real atmosphere and a complete magical experience. Quality bedding , king size bed,carefully chosen interior decorations make this space unique. The views are amazing and walks along the Swale can be accessed by walking down the hill, fabulous circular walks . Great local pub, 10 minute walk away. Fish and chip van goes through the village on a Friday, so guests can pick up a chippy tea!!! Guest access Parking is at the front of our house on the cobbles , a short walk of 5 minutes to get down to the hut , the walk is on a slope so a little harder walking back up ! I’m sure you’ll agree though the view is totally worth it ! Other things to note There is a steep slope to get to,the shepherds hut ( about 5 minute walk) but I’m sure you’ll agree when you get there, it’s definitely worth the effort for the seclusion and views. There are sometimes Sheep in this field also which makes the experience even more authentic!! Cooking facilities- we have an induction hob with kettle, pan and saucepan for small meals. There is also a microwave and a toaster. We do have a fire pit outside with a grill to go over the top of this for outdoor Bbq. There will be wood for the stove and outdoor firepit but if you need anymore, it can be purchased on site . We do also have a Roberts radio, few games, books, local information, blue tooth speaker. There is underfloor heating in the hut and a woodburner, wood, kindling, fire lighters , matches are provided.
