November Cottage is a privately owned self-catering detached cottage dating back to the 17th Century. Recently renovated to a very high standard with slate flagstones in the bespoke kitchen/diner and solid oak flooring throughout the living area. The Cottage is situated near the village of St Kew just off the St. Kew Highway. In close proximity to the town of Wadebridge, Camelford, the harbours at Padstow, Port Isaac, trendy Rock Tintagel, Boscastle and Cornwall's surfers paradise at Polzeath. The village is only a short distance from the breathtaking North Cornwall coastline with its towering cliffs, hidden coves, secluded bays and wide sandy beaches and of course the outstanding natural beauty of the countryside. The motto ' Seven Bays for seven days' resonates in the community and visits can be made to the beaches and bays within your stay here. The ' Red Lion' village pub/restaurant is opposite. Golf courses including St Kew , St Enodoc and Trevose are also within a short drive from the property. As you enter the cottage via the porch you are led into the main living area with the central feature being the newly fitted wood burning stove complimented by the solid oak floor. Providing a cosy and homely feel is the large corner sofa in addition providing extra seating are two modern reading chairs. There is a digital television with a basic Sky package and DVD player with a selection of DVDs for visitors use. The room has been dressed with solid oak units and coffee table. Leading from the lounge you access the large open plan kitchen dining room, with beautiful slate flagstone flooring, butler sink and dresser unit. At the far end of the room is a dining table, which seats six and the addition of a pine highchair for our young guests. The kitchen provides everything and family would require in the form of dishwasher, integrated fridge and freezer additional free standing fridge, electric hob and oven, microwave, four slice toaster kettle and a selection of crockery. At the back of the kitchen there is an additional door that leads you through to another passageway, this provides you access to the garden and the downstairs toilet and a separate utility room is located in this area. The utility room also referred to as the "washroom" is a very good size with additional storage space, butler sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and a good size power shower. The bedrooms are all of good size and provide adequate sleeping for 6 adults with the addition of two travel cots for our younger visitors. All towels and linen including the cot are provided (however it is requested they are not used for outside the property.) The oak stairs lead from the lounge to the upper landing where to you find a double bedroom with solid oak bedside units, free standing unit and arm chair and separate walk in wardrobe. Next to this room is a twin bedroom with dressing table and chairs and antique double wardrobe. Opposite the large family bathroom comprising of a large and deep bath, toilet and sink there is master bedroom with vaulted ceiling which has a large antique wardrobe, chest of draws and bedside cabinets. Externally there are solid wooden double gates which open onto a gravel drive allowing access for easily 3 vehicles to park. The garden is secured by fencing and has been lovingly named "The Secret Garden" by our children as it is naturally split into two halves by a large tree from which a single swing hangs. The "Secret Garden" is located at the far end of the garden where there is a home build slate bench and a good size lawn area. The upper lawn area again of good size near to the house has a rambling country border of plants and shrubs, this leads onto a large patio area where you can soak up the sun on the rattan garden furniture whist enjoying a BBQ cooked on the built in BBQ area. This patio area also allows access back into the lounge area of the house via a stable door. The property is only 20 minutes drive from Newquay airport. Restaurants and quaint pubs are situated in the Hamlets of St Mabyn, Chapel Amble and St Kew. For the more adventurous a cycle ride from Padstow to Wadebridge along the Camel trail is an opportunity not to miss. Child friendly with places to rest and recuperate on route. Bodmin and its moor is also close by for those who prefer country walks and rambling. Other places of interest include the Eden Project, Tintagel Castle, National Lobster Sanctuary and Farm and Birds of prey centres. A number of Michelin star Chef's including Nathan Outlaw have restaurants and bars in this area. Rick Stein has a number of premises in and around Padstow located near the working harbour. The property is a must see and must stay for those wishing for a great stay in Cornwall at any time of the year.
