Nies is a beautiful and quiet place that can provide the calm holidays you are after and our home is perfect for providing a comfortable stay with all the amenities you need and then some more :) The space The proximity to the sea is breathtaking; once you have experienced such holidays you may have difficulties looking back at conventional ones. History: In the ancient years, Nies was the place where Achilles sailed his boats against Troy. Also, during the Persian wars, when hundreds of Xerxes' boats sank due to a storm in the north of the island of Evia, the wrecks were carried away to the North, many reaching the bay of Nies. Afterall, "nies" means "boats" in ancient Greek. One can only imagine what is hidden in the depths of these waters... Our home was built in 1982 and was designed for all-year-long use although we naturally gave emphasis to the warmer months of the year. The house and courtyard were fully renovated in 2017. However, maintenance is being performed every year for the property to withstand the natural humidity and the harshness of the colder months of the year. The house and its surroundings have been meticulously taken care of with attention to detail. It is needless to say that in such an environment you will find yourself spending a significant amount of time in the courtyard and the sea, leaving the house to be utilized for your basic needs such as sleeping, cooking etc. The house can accommodate ideally 4 people. The interior: The 2 storey house is small but practical (60m2). In the ground floor you will find a fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary appliances. The kitchen and appliances are brand new. The living room includes a sofa that can turn into a bed. An A/C unit is present. An HDTV with Netflix is also available. The bathroom with toilet is located in the ground floor as well and a washing machine has been fitted despite the narrow space. Solar panels ensure hot water 24/7. In the upper floor you will find the bedrooms (2). Both bedrooms are sporting double beds, A/C units and separate balconies with direct sea view, with the master bedroom sporting an extra small sofa; Both rooms are equipped with LCD TVs. The exterior: OUR GEM! With 2 big tables for your breakfast/lunch/dinner and an external barbecue. Olive trees provide natural shade depending on the time of day; A pergola with a ceiling fan will provide all the extra shade needed. The sea provides a continuous breeze; a perfect balance. An external shower with constant hot water is present, eliminating even the need to shower inside. Access to the sea is private and direct; the water is only 5 steps away! Enjoy your tea or coffee with the company of a book, gaze at the sea and the spectacular green mountain overlooking the bay and simply enjoy your holidays! Places of interest: - Taverna nearby offering amazing food (2' drive). - The village of Sourpi is a 7' drive away (supermarket,butcher,bakery store,taverns,pharmacy). - The Panagia Xenia monastery (23' drive) - The beautiful city of Volos is 65km away (55' drive). - While you are at it, grab the opportunity and visit mount Pelion and its countless traditional villages and exotic beaches! - Car is preferred for your transportation.
