Chania is a 20-min drive from Stavros; you can start your explorations to the rest of the island from there. If you opt to not rent a car there are frequent buses from Chania to Stavros. The public bus stop that will take you to Chania is situated a few meters away from the villa (next to the beach). Stavros is generally a flat village and biking is highly recommended.
