Stylish self-catering in a detached bungalow at the south end of Stromness with stunning sea views. A unique and welcoming space, Kilmallie was built in the 1960s to designs by the local painter Stanley Cursiter. Fully renovated and in a quiet location with free on street parking. Close to the golf course and within easy walking distance of the town. Two comfortable double bedrooms, one with king size bed. Well equipped kitchen, shower room and generous lounge with log burner and a piano. The space Bedrooms are furnished with one (UK) King Size bed and one (UK) Standard Double. Both have comfy, award winning 'Emma' mattresses and 'Baavet' natural wool filled duvets, plus 100% cotton bedding. The larger bedroom may be converted to a family room with the addition of a small single 'put-up' bed, on request. The well-equipped kitchen-diner has an induction hob, electric oven/grill and fridge freezer. There is a washing machine and tumble drier and washing liquid is provided, as are tablets & rinsaid for the dishwasher. In the kitchen you will also find tea, coffee, a selection of basics, seasonings, oils and condiments which I hope will help if you choose to prepare your own meals whilst staying. The bathroom has a powerful, walk-in shower, a generous washbasin, a shaver socket and a heated towel rail. Fresh, Fluffy Egyptian Cotton towels are provided, as well as a supply of toilet tissue, shower gel and shampoo. (I do not provide toiletries in small, individual bottles, in an effort to reduce plastic waste.) The bookcase in the lounge is stocked with a selection of Orkney books, as well as some popular and classic fiction. There is a 50" smart TV, a smart speaker for you to listen to internet radio or to play your own music, and a selection of board games in the cupboard beneath the TV. And, should you wish to light the stove, some logs and firelighters are supplied. Please feel free to play the piano! Other things to note Kilmallie combines large windows with a quiet, elevated position to give you both stunning views and privacy; however, this does mean that access involves a small number of steep steps.
