The space The villa is approved by the Greek Tourism Organization under the license 1O41Κ 91OO32622O1 The residence unfolds in two levels, within the privileged 1.2 acre site that benefits from a south eastern orientation, on the brink of a charming steep inlet, but with accessible coast, conversing with the imposing rock that lies opposite it. The design aimed for the smooth integration of the building in the sloping plot, with full exploitation of the views and protection from the westerly winds, always taking into account operational needs and comforts. Having been published at the Maison de Campagne and built by a very talented civil engineer with executive know-how in constructing and engineering, on a great unspoiled spot in rural Southern Crete with a lot of privileges and breathtaking sea views. Our villa also offers pure tranquility and full of privacy, as it stands on a seafront cliff, 40 meters above the sea, with a proprietary staircase into the bay that is virtually private. You may see the local fishermen cast their nets, but you would have to be on time. You may see the boat pass from Agia Galini to Agios Pavlos and further afield and sometimes people fish from the rock opposite. Our elegant villa is a private residence set at a stunning scenery, the area of Agios Pavlos, in the south center of Rethymno region, only a few steps away from the big blue! If you are courageous you can walk the 166 steps (counting from the terrace) to the sea! There, you are in a world of your own in a secluded bay! Guest access LAYOUT The villa has ideal orientation built with unique raw materials! On the northern side of the site, a wooden gate leads to the main entrance of the residence via an imposing marble corridor in local stone from Mountain (Psiloritis), amidst olive trees. Our outstanding villa can sleep in comfort 8 guests in its 4 bedrooms, but it can also accommodate 2-4 persons more in a separate studio under extra charge. The LOWER LEVEL of the residence, undercut on its three sides, opens out towards the South offering privacy and unobstructed sea views to all interior spaces. This level has three bright bedrooms, a hammam (steam bath), auxiliary spaces and a more isolated guesthouse (studio) within two double bed bedroom, a secondary well-organized kitchen, a separate bathroom with toilet, as also on this level there is an empty playroom area. In more detail, there is one master bedroom with en-suite bathroom featuring toilet and double shower, two more bedrooms with a large shared bathroom with toilet, big shower and double sinks with jet stream, as also there is an extra bathroom for the pool and an extra toilet for guests. Also, on this level there is a well-equipped laundry room, with a washing machine and a dryer. The surrounding area is lined with sloping stone terraces, thereby perfectly integrating human intervention within the natural terrain. The UPPER LEVEL comprises the communal living spaces of the villa, including an open-plan sitting and kitchen area, a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom features toilet, shower and bidet. Indoors, there is a modern and fully-equipped kitchen so you can cook with a view, with herbs from the garden. Outdoors, there is a big terrace with a magnificent infinity swimming pool (having a room-aquarium underneath with sky lights through the pool) with salt water, along with a protected external stone pergola and as this is not a flat area, children have to be supervised. For even more comfort, there is a change room with toilet and shower under the pool terrace. Through large openings the interior and the exterior are unified, creating various resting and relaxation corners throughout the day, some in shadow and some exposed to the sun that bathes the building. Outdoors, behind the pool, there is a veranda with a shaded dining area equipped with a BBQ and a sink. On the terrace, which is very well protected against the main westerly winds, you choose between sun and shadow, the barbecue area seats everybody easily and there are plenty of places on the other terraces and in the garden to find solitude. There can be serious wind in the south, but this also makes the high temperatures bearable. The house is designed to provide protection! Indoors, the selection of materials is based on minimalism and simplicity; there is fireplace, underfloor heating and air-conditioning has been installed in all rooms and the studio. Also, the color white predominates on the walls and ceiling, while local marble is used in several forms on floors, the kitchen bench and on bathrooms, with monolithic carved stone blocks combined with wooden elements in natural oak, helping to create a residence with a pleasing aesthetic.
