Experience the charm of old Florida horse country in the heart of Marion County. My home sits on 4 acres with a small barn out back. There are moss draped oaks that provide shade for the house and a covered screened porch on the side of the house. Plenty of space to relax, work or enjoy a meal. I-75 is 5 mi, Chi Univ is 8 mi, WEC, HITS downtown Ocala, Micanopy, Macintosh and Univ of Florida are all within 15-20 miles. My home is a split layout with your room and bathroom across the living room from my bedroom. Guests always comment how they feel like they have privacy due to the layout of the home which puts the host bedroom and bathroom on the other side of the home. Your room has a full size bed, work table and closet. Wifi is available in all rooms and the lanai. I provide Keurig coffee free of charge. The property has plenty of space if you are towing a boat or horse trailer. Property is gated for security. I will provide an entry code once I know your approximate arrival time. The kitchen, dining, living room and lanai are shared spaces. Guests have full use of the kitchen and I provide a selection of coffee pods for the Keurig. I work from home 8-5. After work I generally do my riding and take care of my horse. When I’m not home, I can be reached by text or cellphone. I enjoy chatting with my guests and will do my best to answer any questions you may have regarding the area. In addition to horses I enjoy birding and can help you identify most birds on the property or point you to some nearby spots to go birding. My little Jack Russell Willie and Russell terrier Birdie are both very friendly. This area is a horse lovers paradise. Majestic Oaks is 5 minutes away. The World Equestrian Center, HITS, Silver Springs State Park, Ocala, or Gainesville are all within 20 miles. Orange Lake, Payne's Prairie and Sweetwater Wetlands are nearby for nature lovers and birders. Lots of antiquing in nearby Micanopy. You need a car to get around. There are major state routes and access to I-75 is only 5 miles down the road. I have occasionally had guests arrive via Uber from one of the nearby Airports. Getting an Uber to pick-up requires advance planning. Please reach out to me if you have a pet. I can't accept any pets that have aggression issues. I have hotel size toiletries available in case you forget anything. A front load Washer and Dryer are in the kitchen and available for guest use. There is also a top load washer in the barn if you prefer.
