Moon&Star is situated between amazing mountains at the village Banko. If you like nature, relaxing, cool day trips, amazing food, chilled drinks, community based tourism in a laid back atmosphere then Moon&Star is the place to be for you!! “Pat, we travelled through Ghana for 6 weeks, but during are stay at Moon&Star we feel that we finally had the chance to discover the réal Ghana” The rooms are designed with love and a few touches of traditional Ghanaian culture to make you feel right at home! The space Moon & Star guesthouse is located in Banko, ten kilometers above Effiduase. It is the place where you can relax and learn a lot about life in a typical Ghanaian village! At Moon & Star guesthouse we work with a small team and we receive Ghanaian guests as well as tourists and volunteers from all over the world. The social mission of Moon & Star guesthouse is demonstrated by our commitment to the community and how we receive our guests in an informal and caring way! The guesthouse has a garden with beautiful views of the mountain, a shared lounge, a bar and a restaurant. We will cook great homemade food for you - Ghanaian food as well as European. We can also cook vegetarian food, take care of your wishes, and will try to accommodate dietary restrictions. Every morning you can enjoy a fresh breakfast. Chilled drinks are available and fresh coffee is possible. All rooms have a bathroom with a shower, a mosquito net and a fan. We can clean daily, on request. The electricity works on solar energy! Internet is available for a fee. The accommodation has a 24-hour reception (including night surveillance) and a currency exchange service. We also offer a babysitting service. Guest access We have a lot of lovely spaces where you can enjoy. Our front garden, the front porch, a common lounge with board games and books. The bar area, the terrace surrounded by a lush garden full of humming birds and butterflies and we have a piece of private forest with some bamboo seats and hammocks. Other things to note We are more than happy to organize activities for you! Such as climbing the Abesua Prayer Mountain, a visit to the jungle in the Bomfobiri Wildlife Sanctuary, walking through Bobiri Forest, visiting traditional craft villages such as Adanwomase, a cooking workshop in Banko, a visit to the Bodwease Shrine or the Kejetia Market in Kumasi. With the excursions you directly support the local community, since the trips are exclusively provided by locals!
