Cosy mini cottage near Sherwood Forest

'Holly Berry' is a cosy holiday hideaway in the picturesque Nottinghamshire village of Wellow. Please note that Holly Berry is only bookable for a maximum of two adults. It is equipped with kitchenette (larder fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster but no oven or hob), shower/washroom, small sofa, mezzanine level with double mattress, wood burning stove, television and private outdoor seating area with bike lock-up. Two excellent village pubs within 100 yards. The space Holly Berry is a converted Blacksmith's workshop, originally belonging to Rufford Abbey, in the heart of Sherwood Forest. It is located in the village of Wellow which boasts a picturesque village green with a permanent maypole and two friendly village pubs, The Red Lion, serving real ales, and The Maypole bar and bistro, serving delicious cooked breakfasts, coffee, cocktails and gourmet meals. Wellow is situated in the heart of Sherwood Forest, only a short distance from Sherwood Pines, Rufford Abbey, Thoresby Hall, Newstead Abbey, Clumber Park and Center Parcs, making Holly Berry the ideal base for exploring everything the area has to offer. Sherwood Forest is the home of the RSPB Visitor Centre, and is renowned for its wildlife and walking, as well as the world famous Major Oak where Robin Hood reputedly hid from the King’s men! Nearby Sherwood Pines offers excellent cycling routes, a Go Ape course and Gruffalo Trail. The mini-cottage is perfect for the solo traveller or couples, offering a safe and private space to relax and unwind. The cottage boasts a log burner - ideal for relaxing after a day exploring Sherwood Forest. There is a bike rack attached to the wall in the private patio seating area, suitable for storing two bikes. The 800 year old village church, St. Swithins, is located at the bottom of the garden of the main property, and can be seen from the cottage. Thursday night is bell-ringing night - a perfect chance to experience life in an English country village! There are two supermarkets two miles away in New Ollerton, and a range of fantastic cafes, restaurants and pubs within a five mile radius. Guest access Holly Berry has its own private courtyard and private entrance. Access is via a key safe in the courtyard and guests are free to come and go as they please. There is parking available on the drive for one medium sized vehicle. Other things to note Due to its dinky size, Holly Berry is only suitable for a maximum of two adults. It is not suitable for people with restricted mobility due to the step ladder access to the sleeping area on the mezzanine level. Please note there is a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer but NO oven/hob due to space restrictions. Bed linen and towels included. Secure off road parking available for one car.
