Perfect to kick back and relax in nature. This quirky secluded barn at the foot of the South Downs in Fulking Accessible by foot from The South Downs Way set on crossroads of bridle/footpath. Has secluded outside space, living area, wood burner. One bedroom, king size bed with a Hypnos premier Inn mattress/bed & tea/coffee, Short walk to Shepherd & Dog pub & dogs welcome. The Old Barn has a breakfast & food prep area, air fryer, microwave, fridge Welcome pack/ continental breakfast basket etc The space The main property “The Old Bakehouse” dates back to 1797. Built in flint and stone “The Old Barn” is completely separate to The Bakehouse. It was rebuilt / converted in 1983 but has retained some quirky features ie. beams and wood burner.. even its own bar..! Your front door leads directly out into a small but pretty secure secluded garden. Surrounded by rolling hills and immediate access to walks footpaths and bridle paths literally on your doorstep. Horses and riders, walkers, cyclists etc., ride by frequently. Private access is up a few steps to the front door (quite low here but headroom fine inside) there is a nice outside space to sit and enjoy, BBQ area too. It is a secluded pretty little garden..(see photos) with bistro table and chairs.. Sadly the lay of the land does not make it suitable for wheelchair access. If you are walking the South Downs way we offer one night stays on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday nights with bag collection/delivery from your previous location and next stop & small extra charge for this. We look forward to welcoming you. Guest access Own entrance with sensor light and lockable gate. Front door opens onto own little garden (photos attached) decking area with seating & bistro table, also a chiminea & BBQ. Situated along a bridle path/private driveway to neighbouring cottages. Ok to drive up unload then park by the stream. Other things to note PETS etc., amenities to note. Little secluded Kitchenette, kettle, fridge, microwave, airfryer, toaster, one ring convection hob. washing up sink hot/cold water etc plates cups glasses etc.. all the basics. Photos show the detail. Please see. Non smoking inside property. Outside small shaded decking area with bistro table and chairs, bbq and chiminea. Long walks right from your front door throughout the whole National Park. PET Friendly property we do accept 1 x dog in the Barn, additional dogs may be accepted we have dogs ourselves and other pets rabbits and cats. (no dangerous dogs or breeds) cat also welcome. We have had all sorts “Ragdolls” even a Meerkat!! no unhousetrained pups, so ideally over 1yr old. (Or housetrained as Barn floor is a floating floor & swells if left wet causing damage. There is a special allocated dog chair, pet vet bed inside for their comfort, please note a pet fee of £8 per dog per day. If only staying 1 night pay at time of stay not on Airbnb app. Much less. This is not a hidden charge, and we do ask they are not left all alone. We love animals here and they are very welcome if their owners are responsible. Please acknowledge these details have been read. Important as to not dissatisfy our guests. Read previous reviews for guest overall experience. Village pub pet friendly in all areas.
