A traditional stone house in a quiet mountain village Thymia, Keramia with breath-taking views, surrounded by nature & 19 km from Chania. The Villa is tranquil and you’ll hear the tinkle of goat/sheep bells & by evening the Scops Owl with its distinctive call. The Villa is 160 m² - 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, lounge & dining room. The pool has mountain views via its infinity side. The outside kitchen has BBQ & traditional wood-fired oven. The upper terrace of 80 m² has a sofa/dining area. The space Life at Villa Fabrica is peaceful and tranquil – superb for relaxation, rejuvenation and connecting with nature. Around the Villa in the Spring and Summer months you are likely to see a variety of birds close to the Villa and most notably, Swallows. In the evening you will hear the Scops Owl, which has a very distinctive call. You’ll also hear the gentle sound of tinkling goat and sheep bells. If you enjoy walking there are plenty of routes where you can explore the spectacular mountain views. The Villa is 160 square metres with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room. The swimming pool offers amazing views across the mountain via its infinity side and there are gentle steps leading into the pool for easy access. Sun-loungers, large sun towels and umbrellas are provided and there is plenty of space around the pool to relax. For natural shade guests can retreat under the large olive tree close to the pool with beautiful, trailing geraniums cascading from the stone flower bed. Free Wifi is available in the villa and its grounds. There is also an excellent 4G signal in the area. The gardens are scattered with olive trees around the perimeter and there is an outside kitchen, which comprises a BBQ, traditional wood-fired oven and working stone sink. The large upper terrace of 80 square metres can be accessed directly from the Villa and has a comfortable sofa and dining area, perfect for relaxing, eating and drinking. Peppered around the terrace are traditional Greek urns which are planted. At the front of the Villa you can enjoy the evening sunshine at the granite table and stools, covered by a beautiful pergola and grapevines. It is the perfect place to watch the sun gently set behind the mountains and be bathed in the warm, Cretan evening sunshine. Villa Fabrica originally served as an olive production factory, built in 1855 and was extensively renovated in 2008 as a Villa. Access to the Villa is via the large, electric gates and there is ample parking for up to five cars. At the front of the Villa you are greeted by the lovely granite table, stools and pergola and you can access the entire grounds/gardens from the front and back of the Villa. The front door leads into the dining area, which has a tiled floor and air-conditioning. The dining room table can seat six to ten people and the stairs to the first floor lead off the dining room. Under the stairs (closed off by a cupboard) there is a combi-washer/dryer for clothes with complementary washing liquid for guests to use. The lounge can be accessed from the dining area and has wooden floors, a high vaulted ceiling, air-conditioning, open fireplace, 49 inch smart TV and satellite; and a comfortable sofa. A selection of children’s toys are also available. The large upper terrace can be accessed from the lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, dishwasher, filter and expresso coffee makers, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery and an excellent selection of cooking utensils. There is also a kitchen table and chairs. Items such as kitchen foil, clingfilm, serviettes washing-up-liquid are provided for guests to use. The large upper terrace can also be accessed from the kitchen. The ground floor bathroom consists of a cubicle shower, toilet, sink and a tiled floor. The water pressure is also very good. Hair dryers are provided and complementary body wash, shampoo and conditioner is provided, as are bath and hand towels. The first floor consists of 2 bedrooms and a bathroom which is identical to the ground floor bathroom. The bedroom ceilings are vaulted, with wooden floors and both have air-conditioning. The first bedroom has a double bed (and a baby cot if needed), plus wardrobe, dressing table, stool and mirror and bedside tables and lamps. The second bedroom has two large single beds, wardrobe and bedside table and lamp . The third-bedroom is accessed from the lounge and is downstairs. It has two large single beds, bedside table and lamp, plus space to hang clothes. Extra pillows, blankets and throws are available to use in all bedrooms. The large upper terrace has a comfortable rattan sofa set which will easily seat six people, plus an outside dining room table and chairs. Guest access Villa Fabrica is located in a scenic and peaceful village, away from the city noise but just 19 km (25 minute drive) from Chania town and 30 km from Chania airport. Just 3 km away from the Villa you can find the village of Drakona, which boasts two fabulous traditional tavernas. The Dounias Taverna is well-renowned for its traditional Cretan food and has been featured on the famous British Chef, James Martins’ Mediterranean Good Food Programme.
