The Bourne River runs alongside the road with a footbridge and car bridge giving access to the house and parking area. The Bourne is a really pretty little river which usually flows from February to July. To the back of the house is a terrace and lawned garden leading onto a small paddock, big enough for games of rounders or kicking a football around. There is a footpath through the field with direct access to beautiful walks. The views from the kitchen and garden are lovely with barely a house in site despite being in the middle of a village. The village itself is small and friendly with a pub behind and both neighbouring villages have village shops and post offices with lots of local pubs dotted along the valley. There are also several Michelin starred restaurants a short (25 minute) drive away. The White House is situated in the pretty Bourne Valley hamlet of Stoke, in rural North Hampshire. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and walks yet is within 20 minutes of the M4, M3, the historical sites of Stonehenge, Avebury Rings, Danebury Rings, and cities and towns such as Winchester, Marlborough, Hungerford and Newbury. For dog lovers and walkers there are many trails and footpaths in close proximity such as the Test Way and Watership Down. The area is also a cyclists paradise. For children, there is a lovely petting farm 10 minutes away - Finkley Down Farm; Intech Science Museum in Winchester is 20 minutes away, and half an hour away in Basingstoke there is the Aquadrome, bowling, cinemas and Airkix, the indoor skydiving tunnel. Guest access The house, garden and adjoining field. Other things to note We have fibre optic broadband with Cat 6 wiring and WiFi. Mobile coverage is patchy. We have Vodafone and have to go out to the field to get it! Other networks may be better. All bed linen, towels, loo paper and kitchen washing up stuff included. Please note that the duvets are predominantly feather and each guest has a feather and a microfibre pillow. The stairs in the house are steep so not suitable for those with mobility issues.
