The space The two apartments guesthouse is located in a beautiful, restored traditional building of the unique architecture of the village Emporios in Nisiros island, over the unique volcano and with magnificent view to the sea. The main material which is used exclusively in the traditional buildings of Emborios is the famous volcanic black stone "basalt" that gave also the name to the guesthouse "melanopetra" (melan-black, petra-stone). The guesthouse consists of two apartments adressed as much to romantic couples as to families up to even 4 members. One large appartment of the main floor (downstairs) of 60sm and a smaller one on top (upstairs) of 50sm. Both apartments have private entrances and courtyards with view to the sea. They have full equipped kitchen for cooking with fixture fridge. The furniture are all stone-built or wooden. The sleeping spaces are formed in elevated levels, either of screed (downstairs) or wood loft (upstairs). From the bed loft upstairs you have a straight view to the sea from an amazing height so that it feels like being in a airplane, due to the low level of the window in front of the bed loft. The interior is designed in minimalistic style in white and ocher colors combining all the traditional elements of the house with modern architecture and equipment. The living rooms have stone sofas with screed covering. The bathroom space downstairs is unique, formed in ocher screed and with the retained stone steps that originally connected the two floors it has a sculpture-like aesthetics. The owner Anna is an architect with master at restoration of historical buildings and combined her art with her deep hospitality in a perfectly balanced restoration between the traditional architecture of the unique village of Emporios and her discreet touch of minimalistic design in humal scale in order to offer a pleasant, calm and relaxed accommodation for those who want to escape the city stress and become a part of the well known greek island summer life in the most traditional environment. And not only, its stone thick walls and fireplaces make it also an amazing winter escape resort. Other things to note The area is 10-15 minutes away from settlements with more amenities-services, such as mini markets, banks, etc. In the immediate area of the settlement where the guest house is located, guests can easily find coffee, food, water.
