The space The Beach House: - Approached by a long, bumpy track is our charming, rustic wooden beach house. In an idyllic spot, nestled between the sea and a natural salt water lake, on an almost undiscovered beach, this little gem offers spectacular sea views and sunsets, and an ever changing landscape. The Beach House has been lovingly renovated and is a cosy and inviting retreat. Eco-Friendly, powered by solar panels and a wind turbine, the property is heated by two wood burning stoves. In the winter months it is not for the faint hearted, the wood burners need stocking, and you will need to layer up. Warm bedding is provided, eiderdowns on top of duvets on all the beds, and blankets and shawls and fluffy hot water bottles are there for your comfort. During the summer months when sun and daylight are plentiful, you can open up the by-folding doors and overlook the stunning lake, open up the windows and doors to welcome in the sunshine and the sea air. On the lake edge, the house boasts two jetty's, one with a moored dinghy and a wooden boat, chairs, table and bbq. Two paddle boards are stored at the side of the property. These are for my family's personal use and for guests to use and have fun if they wish. The decked and canopied beach side area has a table, benches and a bbq. A large ‘Cockle Bay’ outdoor wood burning stove has been recently fitted to enable you to enjoy longer evenings outside, sitting, eating and watching the most magnificent sunsets. A Lloyd Loom sofa is positioned to sit and watch the ever changing tides and the countless species of wildlife you experience on this nature reserve. The house is dog friendly with many and varied walks. Connected to an outside wall is a shower with three Butler sinks to wash down mucky dogs and children after a day on the beach. There is a plumbed in washing machine for guests to use but please note this can only be run on a ‘quick wash’ due to the power being run off the wind turbine and solar panels. The property has one double, one twin and one single bedroom, easily sleeping five. There is also a double sofa bed in the day room. Plantation shutters are fitted to all the windows. The sea facing sitting room has a wooden table and bench seating; a 3 seater sofa and other extra seating and a wood burning stove. The bespoke kitchen has bi-folding doors opening up onto a small walled and gated patio area, with fabulous lake views. Also leading off the kitchen is the day room with a wood burning stove and table and chairs, plus a double sofa bed. There is a shower room with WC and basin. With a bird reserve and sailing club close by and great coastal walks, the area is totally unspoilt and surrounded by nature: Oyster catchers, seals, wild geese, ducks, countless murmurations and blackberry's growing in abundance. A peaceful paradise, perfect for children and dogs and ideal for the adventurous at heart. If you love long walks in wellies, with wet dogs, messing about in boats, sailing, swimming, picnicking, shrimping, foraging, or simply just soaking up fresh air, then the Beach House is just the place for you. Guest access The beach house is available for full rental, the property is not lived in. Check in and check out is flexible as keys will be left in a coded key box. Other things to note The cooking facilities are limited, there is a double hob and an oven for light meals. There are two BBQ ‘s, one on the jetty, the other on the veranda over looking the beach. We have a ‘Cockle Bay’ outdoor wood burning stove so that you can keep warm and enjoy the outside space even on chillier evenings. There is a washing machine at the beach house but it can only be used on a ‘quick wash setting’.
