The house is approached by a quiet lane that leads on to the apple orchards and the local vineyards of the village. The lounge has seating for 4, Portuguese satellite TV (some English channels), Wifi internet access, CD/DVD player, books and games and a dining table and chairs. The river is 500ms from the house and the river beach at Sarzedo, where the council have also built a swimming pool, is less than 2 kms away and can be reached by a short walk. There is another pretty river beach in Secarias approx. 2 kms away where you can hire pedaloes and there are restaurants and cafes there. Coimbra is an ancient capital of Portugal and approx. 45 kms away. The Serra da Estrela is the highest mountain range with skiing in winter, approx. 50kms away.
