Description

NO NIGHTS: DAWN - DUSK ONLY. Beloved painted family beach hut on sandy sea front. Close free parking, 200m loos/tap. Gas hob, grill. If you don't like price or value, please don’t book it! It is as well equipped and clean as a beach hut can be but it is a BEACH HUT & there will be hints of sand / dust. Seaside shabby chic, not TOWIE perfection. Pls check out ACCESS to understand your booking: 1 night =1 day, the first date of booking & ends same eve. Full info sent by email 48 hours beforehand The space Enjoy a blissful day at the traditional seaside town of Frinton-on-Sea, with the comfort of a beach hut. Beloved by families, for its sandy beach which is ideal for sandcastles, sunbathing or a game of rounders, and also by adults who wish to enjoy the sea air with the added comfort of a base from which to have a cup of freshly made tea whilst lying back and reading a book, without ever having to get onto the sand if you prefer! The hut is well equipped … as beach huts go! It has all the crockery and cutlery a group of 6 will need, and unlike most huts, it has a gas hob and grill so that as long as you are happy to leave it immaculate, you can warm up a pizza or make spaghetti, boiled eggs or fry some bacon! Alternatively you can stop and buy pizza or fish and chips in the traditional beach town 1/4 mile away, where there also typical holiday shops selling buckets, spades, surf boards, windbreaks and so on. However tidy everyone is, there will be a hint of sand. It's a beach hut. Please don't then give us a poor review because the shabby chic floor wasn't as well carpeted / painted / hoovered as your own sitting room! Please, please note: It is a beach hut! There is a steep sloped road down to the hut which is not not necessarily suitable for wheelchair users (although we have a regular visitor in a wheelchair who adores it). There are 5 steps up to the hut. IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIFIC NEEDS, PLEASE ASK BEFORE YOU BOOK! Many thanks. There are 4 chairs, a picnic and small serving table, 2 very good sun loungers, a bench and a window seat so that you can sit cosily inside the hut with the "stable door" open and look out. PLEASE TAKE YOUR OWN TOWELS! Even in drizzle or in winter, my family have enjoyed hours playing board games inside the hut with hot chocolate or fish and chips. It is one of those places people return to again and again, with special memories being made there. The beach hut is locked with padlocks, each on a code which we will give you the day before you go to the hut as it changes regularly. This means that you have complete freedom to go at a time to suit you - no need to pick keys up at a certain point or time as most huts require. God forbid that there is a problem during your day at the hut, please be aware whilst we will do our best to come straight out if you feel you need us, THIS IS NOT GUARANTEED. We have only ever been called out to false alarms, such as the gas supposedly being empty when in fact it wasn't turned on..... if this is the case, there will be a £30 charge. Thank you so much for your understanding. 48 hours or so before your visit, I will send full information about directions, parking, the padlock codes, using the gas and other such details. PLEASE don't chase this info earlier, it's all automated so will definitely come! x Guest access The hut is available from dawn to dusk on a daily basis BUT NOT OVERNIGHT as council rules forbid it. Because of this, please be clear about the way the booking is described: Your booking is from dawn to dusk on the FIRST date you have booked it for. You can check on tides and weather by googling - I'm so sorry that I am not allowed to put the link on here IMPORTANT: I have had to list a bunk bed as this is the closest option I was given to what is available for a good sleep! There are two very comfortable sun loungers, which I can assure you are excellent for a daytime sleep! However, there is no proper bed, hence no linen. This part of the beach is DOG FREE from April to October - please don't book it, take your dog, and then complain that your dog couldn't go on the beach! The beach huts in Frinton-and-Sea vary a little, depending on whereabouts the hut is. Some are on stilts, some are in rows, but ours is one of a single line which gives the easiest access, a less crowded beach, a boundary wall between the hut and the beach for safety for small children whilst having lunch and so on, close to free parking and not too far from the public loo. The loo is pretty well maintained as a rule. The sand is very good for sandcastle making and digging, and the sea is paddling or bathing. The waves aren't too big, and my children, not the most robust when it comes to swimming, seem to always get in when we go! You can play Badminton on the beach, or other ball games, or just relax outside the hut itself on one of our very comfortable reclining chairs and enjoy the view and ambiance of a very traditional English beach town. Other things to note Taken from TripAdvisor: One of our local beaches and the best. Ultra clean, lovely sand and plenty of room. Oozes character with all of its quirky beach huts. Take a packed lunch as there are no handy shops (10min walk into town). Would choose this beach over Walton. Locals recommend: The Hungry Bedoin for great coffee and Tapas There is only the one Fish and Chip shop inside the gates. Lots of little cafes and bakery on the High Street Lovely distillery down the road in Thorpe-le-Soken that does free tastings on a Saturday! Caffe Gloria serves great food with a smile and friendly service
