Cozy cabin by the river - Mamita María
Description
Cabin built with wood, giant and guadua bamboo. We are surrounded by nature on the outskirts of Calceta and we are dedicated to the conservation of local traditions. This is a quiet location next to the mosca river, where one can enjoy a good dip in the water or simply relax while watching the waters go by. Come visit and share this space with us. The space The cabin has 2 rooms, one with a King size bed and the other with a Full size one, all fitted with spacious mosquito skirts (though there aren't that many). Big windows open towards the river and they line up the entirety of the living, dining, and kitchen rooms. At home we are always doing activities related to our culinary and oral traditions and we invite you to join in them as a neighbor. Depending on the season, right from your window you might see a Pedrote with it's beautiful turquoises, a Cacique with it's strong yellows, an adventurous hummingbird, a clumsy iguana falling through the bamboo, a bandit squirrel stealing the cacao, or you could listen to the nightly song of a sloth. You can also relax on any of the various hammocks we have laying around in the property and let nature's noises lull you to sleep. The cabin was built on top of wood columns and you have to climb up using a traditionally built staircase. People with difficulty of movement might need some help coming up. Guest access Access to the cabin is complete and private, but there is also access to the laundry machine below our house and to the traditional firewood oven at the edge of the river. There is also access to hammocks and to all areas of the property. Other things to note During the rainy season (Early January - Late April) it is a good idea to bring shoes for the rain, the floor becomes muddy getting into the property.
