The location of this comfortable North Dupont English basement apartment on a quiet block just can't be beat. It is steps to 100s of restaurants and bars, full-service grocery, bike rental, and public transportation. It has a full-sized kitchen with a variety of small appliances. The bathroom has a pristine bathtub. The space Swann Street is one of the most sought after residential streets because of its mature trees, renovated Victorian buildings, and chopped up blocks that discourage through traffic that flow on nearby thoroughfare streets. Situated in North Dupont, just south of Adams Morgan and west of the U Street Corridor, the location is exceptional. You can comfortably walk day or night with confidence to nearby restaurants, the metro, full-service grocery, art galleries, or choose among hundreds of restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. Sightseeing is a short metro, bike, or taxi ride, or take your time and walk a mile or two. Although staying below ground may be a downer to some, on the plus side any street noise is muffled, and when you return for the night you will enjoy the peace and quiet more than sunlight. Also no drafts -- important in both warmer and cooler weather. Note that there is no smoking allowed anywhere on the property. Guest access You will have access to a beautiful garden patio that is shared with one other apartment -- the upstairs studio. Free laundry facilities: Shared with the studio apartment. It is in utility room adjacent to the kitchen. Studio apartment has separate entrance to laundry room. Other things to note Although you are entitled by law to bring your Service Animal to the property, please be aware that there is a dog on the premises that does not get along with other dogs who could make your stay uncomfortable if we meet in the hallway or outside. Please also be aware of the Airbnb policy that you must not leave your animal in the apartment without supervision. The max occupancy is two for partners or one adult w/ one child. Otherwise the max occupancy is one adult age 21 or older. For stays 90 days or shorter, a 15.95% DC lodging tax is reflected in your AirBnb quote (if you're staying between 74 and 90 days you're better off extending your stay to 91). If you are bringing a car be aware that street parking is restricted so guests can only park on weekdays for two hours total after 7 am and until 8:30 pm. On weekends you can park from 6:30 pm Friday until Monday morning at 9:30 am. If you are staying longer than 30 nights, I will require full name(s), home address, and cell phone number to complete the booking process, so either include those in a follow up message. I will then message you a simple lease for you to agree to before I provide you access instructions to the apartment. It basically says the rental is for transient rental and you can't smoke, sublet, knock down walls, bother the neighbors, operate a meth lab, and other stuff my insurance company requires me to say.
