Quirky Downtown Dartmouth with Massive Tub
Description
GIANT bathtub, private off-street parking included, private entrance, and private laundry. Right downtown Dartmouth, very close to the Halifax waterfront and Downtown Halifax! Keep warm in cold weather or cool in hotter weather with an excellent Heat Pump/air conditioner. Please note, it is a basement apartment with lower ceilings, but it does have windows and an great working fan in the bathroom. A fantastically-located apartment for exploring the Halifax/Dartmouth area. The space The negatives of the space: it is a basement with low ceilings and the laundry room is unfinished, and the overhead lighting in the main area is fluorescent (I provide many alternatives to this though with lamps etc). The flooring isn’t perfect, there’s some gaps as it’s a very old building that used to be a bank, converted into a music studio, converted into a Bnb. The caps on the tub jets have some discolouration that no amount of bleach can remove as it’s under the sealant, but the tub itself is huge and sparkling clean with many candles provided. There are exposed pipes and such in the ceiling of the kitchen area and the laundry room is unfinished (but hey, free unlimited laundry with detergent included??) The positives: it’s a very interesting space, which is going to be torn down sometime next year and I used to personally live there and loved it; visit it while it’s here. There are not many units with AC in the area, and the heat pump is great and 100% controlled by you to whatever temp you desire in the main room. The location is amazing, right downtown Dartmouth without the night time party noise. 5min walk from the ferry to downtown Halifax, 5min drive to the bridge to downtown Halifax, 10min walk from the major bus terminal that takes you anywhere. Lake banook and the Dartmouth commons within walking distance. Private off-street parking included. Your own private entrance. Some private outdoor space. 42" smart tv with Roku channels. Couch, bed, dining room table and chairs, all new. Fully equipped kitchen even though it’s small. Portland st is right in your backyard, with many interesting shops with local goods, beer, food, etc. Saturday and Sunday mornings is a local farmers market at Alderney landing. Many pubs close by. The waterfront just minutes away. Good sized bedroom with window, small but fully equipped kitchen with window, and the huge tub room is separate from the toilet room. Ceilings are lower than regular, if you are 6’2” or taller you will have issues. I’m a tall lady and I am comfortable in the space. There is another rental unit in the back half of the floor upstairs, so there can be some noise during the day, but it’s usually very quiet at night. If there are any issues with noise please be in touch with me, we are very quick to respond. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND that in Airbnb terms, 5 stars is "as expected," as in, does it match the description here and the photos? Did we, the hosts, respond to you within 30min to answer questions and address any issues you may have as best as possible? 4 stars is "failure," and anything below 4 is basically "burn the place down it is uninhabitable." We know it's not a 5 star luxury hotel, but we feel we communicated everything both positive and negative and priced the place accordingly. If you have any questions or issues we ask you PLEASE contact us. We are here to help you. AirBnb ratings are basically pass/fail. Thank you! Guest access The whole space except a couple of storage rooms which are blocked off. The furnace room is off the laundry room, it's unlocked but please don't go in there.
