Ancient borie / view 3 Becs / near Drôme river

Bonjour, Hello, Wilkommen, Bienvenido, Laborie is a charming traditional Drôme stone house, located in the heart of the valley, in the middle of fields of wheat and lavender. The house is in the center of a large garden (and far from the nearest neighbors) and has a superb view of the 3 Becs peaks (emblematic mountain of the valley), it is located: - 8 min by car from the center of Crest - 200 m from the Drôme River - 100 m from the VéloDrôme, a paved bike path - 10 min from the Saou Forest The space Laborie is an old stone farm house (1850) that has evolved over the generations. Formerly just a shelter for chickens, donkeys, farming tools and with a small bedroom/kitchen, it has been transformed in the recent years into a comfortable house full of charm. Today, we have 4 comfortable bedrooms located upstairs, a kitchen open to a small sitting room and the primary living room, 2 large bathrooms, and a second large living room (old barn). At laborie, we live inside and outside, enjoying the large terrace and garden. We are constantly working to make it more comfortable, warm and functional than it was when it was designed, while retaining its charm and Provencal style. Guest access Here, we move either: By car By bike: 100m from the VéloDrôme, an ideal starting point for mountain biking or road cycling On foot: access to walks in the surrounding hills. Other things to note Laborie is a family home that we, my partner Tannika (American) and myself (local), have been restoring in recent years while living here. We love our house and the region, and we will do our best to make your stay as pleasant as possible (loan of bikes, advice on sightseeing, hiking, and walks ....). Sheets and blankets for all the beds are provided. Towels for the bathroom and/or for the river are NOT provided. The 3rd living room at the back of the house has a large table that can be used as a desk and with the door closed, provides a quiet space to work. *During your stays (more than 2 nights) we We may need to come to the house to water the yard and the vegetable garden (we will provide you with notice in advance of course).
