Scale the stone staircase to reach the front door, then step into the homely kitchen/diner, which has an original flagstone floor and beamed ceiling. Cook up feasts in this farmhouse-style setting, then enjoy them all together at the four-seater dining table. The gorgeous lounge has two sash windows yielding inspiring views of Swaledale, to be savoured with a Dolce Gusto coffee from the machine. A Smart TV is on hand for when you want to put your feet up, while a wood burner ensure you stay cosy. At the front of the cottage, you’ll have a paved area where you can dine al fresco on mild evenings. When it’s time to explore your surroundings, take the dogs for a walk in the Gunnerside Gill valley (2 miles) or embark on the 6-mile trek to Buttertubs, where 20-metre-deep limestone potholes offer a unique viewing experience – the views from here are truly spectacular.
