Description

The Spring Room is on the first floor of Bellaterra B&B. It faces north, yet has an open, light feeling, partly because of the 5-windowed bay. Its color is reminiscent of early spring, and echoes the greenness outside. It has a queen bed, large wardrobe, antique washstand, desk, and other small tables. We can add a dresser and/or file cabinet if desired. This room is only available for rentals of 31-85 days, perfect for residencies and other longer-terms stays. The space Bellaterra is a licensed bed and breakfast in a creatively restored Victorian in Lair Hill, a historic neighborhood in close-in Southwest Portland. Rooms are inspired by nature and culture, each with a unique theme. A couple things to be aware of if renting the Spring Room: The bathroom is off the kitchen and is mostly private--you'd be the only one using the shower, but during the daytime the staff might use the toilet and sink and, occasionally, other house guests as well (but all overnight guests will have their own bathrooms). Light sleepers should be aware that, although Bellaterra tends to be on the sedate side, some activity may be heard through the three doors to the room: one goes out to the foyer, one to the dining room (both of these lock), and one to the kitchen (generally only used by Ellen and staff). Guest access Guests have 24-hour access to parlor with tea station and reading material. Front porch for people-watching and enjoying the neighborhood scenery. Self-service continental breakfast is available all morning. Because this is a licensed bed and breakfast, the health department requires that anyone using the kitchen have a food handler's card. Most guests do not have access to the kitchen, but since you will be staying longer, you'll have the option of getting a card so you can use the kitchen (if you don't, you'll still have your own mini-fridge and access to the microwave) if you choose to get a food handler's permit. It takes about 10-20 minutes for most people and costs $10. During your stay I'm a semi-professional musician and am often at rehearsals in the evening; also, I spend a lot of time with my partner and his grandkids, so I'm not at home as often as I'd like. However, I do enjoy visiting with guests and am generally available by text/phone/email--so if you have any questions or need anything, please don't hesitate to let me know!
