Description
Church House is nestled in the pretty seaside village of Bonchurch, on the edge of the larger town of Ventnor on the south east coast of the Island. The house adjoins the former village school and its closest neighbours are East Dean, where the famous English poet Algernon Charles Swinburne lived, and Winterbourne where Charles Dickens wrote David Copperfield. The space This character cottage has been extensively renovated with high quality furnishings and a modern feel, but still retains its historic character with lead window panes and original fire places. Downstairs the cosy living room is the perfect space to curl up with a good book, whilst the well-equipped galley kitchen with modern appliances will make easy work of preparing a quick meal if you fancy a night in. Take time to dine as a family in the separate dining room, which seats six comfortably. Upstairs, on the split level first floor, the three cosy bedrooms are full of character, traditionally furnished with sloping ceilings and exposed stone. The third bedroom with bunk beds is the perfect children’s room. The cottage’s lawned garden is a lovely place to enjoy a peaceful afternoon, or to let the kids let off steam! When you don’t fancy straying too far from home, there’s a local pub just up the road where you can relax and take in the village atmosphere. The rock pools at Bonchurch are within walking distance, and venturing slightly further afield, the sandy beaches of Ventnor are also within easy reach. Parking for the cottage is on the quiet road outside the house. Guest access All of it private garden and shared
