Madrona Suite on Lakefront Farm

We live on a beautiful lakefront farm on St. Mary Lake on Salt Spring Island. Our Air BnB suite is only a seven minute drive to town but also quiet and tranquil. The suite has a beautiful view of the lake and pastoral farmland. The suite has a private bathroom, its own patio, as well as access to a larger guest patio with hot tub, guest living area and kitchenette. The space Our suite is on a beautiful lake-front farm. Look out the large glass door to see our sheep grazing and the tranquil view of St. Mary Lake. You have a large private bedroom, bathroom and patio. You also can use a guest living area, larger patio, kitchenette and hot tub. The guest living room has a has a seating area, dining table and chairs. There's also a kitchenette with mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and facilities for making coffee and tea, which we provide. The kitchenette has a dishes, and utensils, allowing you to make a simple breakfast, sandwich, warm something up, or pour yourself a beverage to enjoy on the patio overlooking the lake. There is no stove or hot plate. Local bylaw prohibits full cooking facilities in a vacation rental. The kitchenette does not have a sink, however a water dispenser is provided and you will find dish washing supplies (dish bin, soap, sponge, dish rack) in the bathroom. Outside, you may choose to relax on the patio, unwind in the hot tub while looking out over the lake, or stroll down to our private lake access for a swim, or a paddle in our canoe. Evenings you may want to get cozy around the fire pit. We live in a separate area of the house and you can send me a message or knock on the front door if you have a question or need something. We aim to be considerate about giving you peace and privacy, but you may occasionally hear our voices, footsteps, our dog or some music drifting from our living space. If we’re out on our deck feel free to come say hi- we love meeting guests! Guest access You have exclusive use of your private bedroom, bathroom and patio. You may also access the shared guest living room and kitchenette area and a larger patio area with hot tub. We may occasionally come through these shared areas to clean, or to access a room off that area. We live in a separate area of the house but we are readily accessible. Outdoors, you have access to our private lake front and dock and may swim or go for a paddle in our canoe. Our lakefront area is a lovely 2-3 minute stroll down alongside our pastures. There is a very peaceful, rustic seating area down in the wetland area. This area is a conservation habitat and nesting area for the endangered Western Painted Turtle. Our lakeshore is also home to river otters, herons, and eagles. We also have a fire pit, orchard and farm area (good for a stroll but please stay out of fenced animal pastures).We ask that guests arrange use of canoes, wood stove or the fire pit so we can review safety information and get you equipped. If you wish to use the hot tub, please let us know so we can give you a quick orientation. Some of these activities and amenities are only offered at certain times of the year. During your stay We enjoy meeting guests and are available to answer your questions or give recommendations; we will give you privacy if that's what you want. We live on site, in the upper level of the house so we are easy to find. We are also available any time by text or by messaging through Airbnb . Other things to note Please note that there is no smoking permitted in or on the premises . We have a dog and a cat who are never allowed into the guest accommodation. We do not welcome other pets onto the property. We do not accommodate babies or young children. Covid-19 Health Protocols: To ensure physical distancing, we do offer self check-in, utilizing a lock box. We are being very mindful about cleaning and disinfecting all touch surfaces, washing bedding at a higher heat, and allowing a full day between each booking to let fresh air into the room. Please do not stay here if you have any symptoms of Covid-19, are ill, or have recently had close exposure to someone with Covid-19. (In these circumstances you can cancel without cost).
